Somewhat disappointing regarding the service and to some extent the food. The waiter was fine even good but he seemed to be having trouble with both his bartender and perhaps the cook. He said 'Cassie' the bartender was really busy, apparently too busy to pour a beer. I finally got one but could not get a second. (I could see all of this through the window from where I was sitting. This woman Cassie was obviously inept.)
The shrimp alfredo was okay ... I think, and I say 'I think' because it had somewhat of a odd seasoning added or something in it that made it different than any other alfredo I've had. I guess I would have to say it was a bit off. 😛
Regardless, the waiter kept apologizing for Cassie because she would not give him another beer for me, but he was a well-meaning young man and it wasn't his fault. He finally said that there were only two waiters, but they were only a half dozen tables seated. Even if that qualifies for busy that doesn't mean the bartender can't crack open a beer and hand it to a waiter.
But like a lot of small towns this is pretty much one of the only games in town and it's in a nice location just off the historic town square. I happened to be by-myself on this particular evening. I find that when you're a singleton you get passed over as if not important as perhaps a couple or more diners.
The owner needs to invest in a little more training for his wait staff and bartending crew.
Marshall Texas is the town where I grew up as a boy. I was passing through to visit my mother in Mississippi and had stopped to see the old square. I chose this restaurant for a view of the Old Courthouse. How disappointing to have all of that ruined because Cassie couldn't help out her waiter and the cook couldn't stick to traditional alfredo but instead had to toss in some other weird seasoning.
Recommend taking a pass on this place. Get some takeout and sit on one of the park benches to...
Read moreI absolutely love Pietros. They are usually incredibly attentive and prompt with their food and are so friendly. My last visit absolutely enraged me though. I ordered two calzones to go which are usually absolutely delicious. But, this night the restaurant was absolutely packed, whichbis not a problem at all. I'm happy they are getting the business they deserve. Although, they need to figure out a way to serve customers, fill drink orders, and serve to go customers simultaneously. I was given a 30 minute time frame until my food would be ready and I arrived at 25 minutes after I placed my order. When I arrived, I found that their foyer was filled with people waiting to be seated in the already small dining space, which in itself isn't really an issue, I was just there to get my food and leave. But, as I was standing there staring at my ready to go food waiting to pay, many drink orders for waiting customers were being filled whilst my food grew colder and colder. I ended up waiting there for an additional 30 minutes. Needless to say, my wife and I had to reheat our freshly cooked food once I finally got home. I don't know about you, but it erks me a little to have to microwave something that is best tasting when it is served ASAP. This os not food that is meant to be microwaved. I was and still am very disgruntled with Pietros. I will be returning, hopefully to a...
Read moreThe reason is not their food quality and or anything else in that regard. It is health and safety measures. As we were driving back to the DFW area from a day spent a Caddo Lake hicking, we decided we wanted to eat pizza. We googled a pizza restaurant in Marshall and GPS's it and got there around 5:30 pm. As we parked outside the pizzeria, ready to order to go, we were totally amazed at the little regard for public health and covid-19 safety measures they had. Through the large glass windows we can see waiters and customers alike with no face coverings or masks whatsoever, acting as if we were not in the mist of the he worst pandemic arising we are currently having in Texas and throughout the entire United States. We just could not believe it! We did not want to order anything to go or eat there under any circumstances. If they do that openly, how do the people cooking the pizzas are acting in regards to safety and healthy measures. No one single customer or waiting staff we saw in there had a mask, no one! Now, this is not intended by no means to refrain anybody to patronize this place, but simply to raise awareness of the current situation so they can in some way abide by the safety recommendation from the Federal and State Health Authorities in preventing the spread...
