Rising Sun Breads — Restaurant in Martinsville

A delightful place for breakfast and brunch. Some indoor seating but for a small amount of guests. Cheerful service and they do have more of some items in the back. Breads made from scratch and other pastries. Looking for fresh bagels but the closest spot is 40 miles away? They have a limited amount of bagels here, so come in early. I'm sure if demand increases the store could become a bagel store with how good they were. I got 2 everything, a plain, and a salted. Here is hoping they make a PB or chocolate one soon. They were chewy, warm and soft. I also got a lemon bar which was tart and very sweet, you could taste the the baker's skill in every bite. This little coffee and bakery shop located across from the Post Office and Food Lion, makes for an easy stop in off both Spruce or Brookdale. Inside, there is an area with tables and chairs to eat in if you choose. The display units are filled with a wide spectrum of baked goods, which pushed my A1C warning lights to the danger levels on a visual, so I settled for the Cowboy cookie and chocolate chip to give my Metformin a challenge for the day. The staff and manager were really friendly and warm. I highly recommend their chicken salad on COW bread (Cranberry-Oatmeal-Walnut)...awesome. Hot sandwiches equally as yummy. This girl!! 🥰🥰 I got a phone call from my scheduled baker the morning of pick up that they were not able to complete my wedding cake. But Sun Rising Breads took me by the hand and reassured me that my dream would be fulfilled. She delivered, set up, and decorated my cake in less than 24 hours. I highly recommend her simply because she saved the day. But most importantly the taste of the cake was amazing with no left overs. Perfectly sweet, and very moist.
