San Jose Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Martinsville

I cannot rave about this place enough! It's THE BEST Mexican Restaurant I have ever been to, and miles above any of the others in and around Martinsville. Just amazing. I am so glad they opened up, and they are only a few minutes away from our house.

Pictured is the Margarita Sampler from THE BEST Mexican restaurant we have ever been to! Their drinks are actually very afforable, with the prices right on the menu. Very refreshing in more ways than one!

My only issue (which doesn't take away any stars, btw) is they don't do free chips and salsa, but literally everything else is PERFECT.

The place is beautiful inside, everyone is friendly, and the food is incredible. Best of all, I FINALLY got to have good churros! Not just good, but delicious.I have tried them from other places before and thought they just weren't for me. Well, San José's churros have redeemed them for me. Even the way they plate the churros is great.

Oh, and their white cheese doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Our party of 5 each ordered extra on the side and it still kept our ticket much lower than we expected. Even with drinks and dessert!

This was the first restaurant that I ventured out to eat at since my move to the area. The staff was very pleasant with greeting me and assisting me with my choices on the extensive menu. The San Jose Super was recommended and I also added a Chile Relleno and chicken Tamal. Without going into deep details, almost everything was just kinda disappointing. The Super was just barely warm, with the plate being extremely hot. The beef tip was the best of the 5 enchiladas, the rest were lacking in any flavor at all, including the crema salad. Some cilantro definitely would have made it actually taste like something. The chile relleno was totally mushy and greasy. The Tamal was dusty dry and tasteless. I did enjoy the fresh tortilla chips, but again, the salsa(?) could have used some cilantro. The service was great and the folks were all friendly. The dining room decor was dated, and the multiple TV'S were distracting. My first Martinsville dining experience was just sad and...

This place is usually awesome but today whoever was supposed to chrck our order before sending it out just didnt even look. The person who took my order was very thourough and read the entire order back to me exactly how it should have been. We asked for 2 extra of each salsas with the tacos and no salsas at all. There were no onions, jalepeno, and cilantro with the tacos so they literally got no veggies and no salsas. Just chicken and a tortilla. Boring meal and not at all what they wanted. We also asked for an extra bag of chips, which I am sure we paid for as well as the salsas and no extra bag of chips. Again the person who took our order read it back with all of the above items listed. Nobody checked it before letting us leave. And they tie them insanley tight so we cant check before leaving. Not a great meal, not what we were looking for from a place that is solid. I will probably take this down tomorrow just hope someone from here sees it so this doesnt...
