So, my super valid reason for this review is strictly based on the owner and is actions. Which if an owner acts like this then we should not support this establishment. We (2 families - 4 adults 4 kids under 18) went to Buckets after a day of family golfing. We sat at 2 tables, 1 for the adults and 1 for the kids. We had a waitress where we ordered our food and drinks and the waitress knew we had our minor children at the table behind us. Our 14 year old daughter wasn’t feeling well after golf and pretty much sat the entire time with her head down at the table of kids. We paid our bill of over $250 and were finishing up our adult conversations. One of the kids came up to us and said the owner came to their table and said the girl needed to leave because her head was down and was overserved and the other kid said she was 14 and didn’t drink. We approached the owner and inquired as to why and he said because she had her head down and appeared to be overserved. He said because his liquor license was on the line. I told him she was 14 and was only served a Dr. Pepper and never drank any alcohol. He said well she shouldn’t have been served. I am not sure where he didn’t understand she was never served alcohol nor was anyone at that table. I told him to ask the waitress that waited on us she would verify. Needless to say we left after that and the owner was absolutely ignorant and failed to do the right thing. He should have asked where are your parents immediately after knowing she was 14 and had a discussion with us. Would have solved and clarified the entire situation but he took the unprofessional way out and assumed a 14 year old was drinking. Furthermore, if you are saying she was overserved then your establishment would be culpable for serving her (which never happed and she only drank a Dr. Pepper). So to the owner who we tried to have a conversation with, you are 1000% wrong and failed to own it. We will never again support Buckets, which we go to once a week, again. We will also never recommend this establishment either. You really messed up here and you...
Read moreIf I could rate 0 stars, I would. We came in on a Sunday, hoping to watch the game and have some beer. When we arrived it seemed like no one worked there, nobody behind the bar or directing people to open tables. That should have been the first cue to leave.
When we finally found an abandoned table we sat for a solid 20 minutes before we even were approached by someone, we're still not sure if they even worked there, and they offered to change one of the 6 tv's (all of which had the same game on it).
Fast forward another solid 15 minutes and the bar tender asks us for our beer order, which was fairly prompt. However, the beer was very much off, to the point you couldn't tell the difference between an IPA and an ale.
Another arduous unspecified amount of time passes before a waitress appears to take our order...written on a piece of toilet paper. After waiting for what felt like an eternity, the bartender comes out and asks us if we want another beer. We asked if we could just close out, figuring that we probably won't get our food and we should cut our losses. All of a sudden they kick into high gear and all of our food (appetizers, entrees, sides) come out at once. We figured we'd give it one last shot...our fatal error. The appetizer was scalding on one end and cold one the other, the brisket fatty and slimy. After asking to close out another several times, we finally got our tab paid and left. $70 down the toilet.
It's safe to say we won't be back, thanks for the...
Read moreFood was ok, nothing outstanding, the burger wasn’t seasoned and tasted a bit flat although greasy. The club sandwich was good. The wings we got (sorry I forgot to take a picture) were a bit rubbery vs fried crispy, and for $21 for 8 wings (flats for a $4 upcharge) with a 1.50 up charge for blue cheese and ranch that I’ve seen nowhere else, I was disappointed. The prices here are at least as much if not more than at Brick in Prince Frederick, which is far superior in food quality/flavor and atmosphere; service is great at both. It fits the Lusby vibe for sure, and people really like this place so we gave it another try after a few years when we were put off by the amount of grease on a take out pizza. The service was very good this time; helpful with suggestions and polite to everyone she came in contact with. The other patrons there were loud and obnoxious, but it’s a bar so that’s to be expected. The prices being as high as they are should include fries with a burger for example, but maybe the rent cost is really high and they have to make it up somewhere. Lots of upcharges for things included at other restaurants, so read the menu carefully. This meal with two iced teas and a 20% tip really doesn’t warrant $80 in my opinion. Didn’t hate it, didn’t love it, but impressed by the service and that says a lot...
