Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Maryland

On Sept 12th.2023 For my 50th birthday, my elderly mom and I came through the drive thru. We purchased a peanut butter cup cake, the largest one. Paid at the window, the young lady asked us to pull upfront and she will bring it right out. It was not even busy.. We stayed outside for 24 minutes waiting, in the car. I got out, went inside and said “I’ve been waiting outside for my cake. A young guy named Noah says” Oh, They are making it right now. It’s a totally separate area. “ I said “what? They just started making it? Noah chuckled and replied “yeah “ The entire time he was being rude and inconsiderate to me. Then the young lady that was in the drive thru, walked in the lobby talking to someone else. She overheard me talking to Noah. She says “you ordered the cake right”? She opens the freezer in the lobby and hands me the cake. The cake was there the entire time, along with a bunch of others. The moral to the story is, I’ve never been treated in such a manner. This was our place to get blizzards and pup cups. No apology from them, they thought it was funny. Never again. Also, they said they didn’t have a manager for me to speak with. Not to mention, that cake was freezer burnt. So, I know they weren’t back...

We don't often go inside Dairy Queen. We usually get a pretzel in the drive-thru. We decided to go in for a late lunch, around 330. We ordered a couple of burgers, my husband got fries and a drink with his, and I got cheese curd and a drink. It took 20 mins to get our food. Before that, we went to the coke freestyle machine to get our drinks, but I couldn't get anything to drink because every non sugar soda was out. I told the cashier, and the cashier told the manager. The manager told me I would have to wait because she had to go to the bank. So I just got some water and waited the 20 mins for our food. Our food came and we were so disappointed. Both of our burgers we so overdone, they were hard. My cheese curds were cold and tasted like oil. My husband's fires were cold and tasted like the freezer. We didn't really eat our food, $30 down the drain. I decided to get a small twist cone, and they put it in a cup because it was so soft it was runny. Worst experience we have had there. Oh, the manager came back while I was waiting for my ice cream and said, "omg you're still here, let me fix the machine for you," and laughed....

If you want to go to Dairy Queen keep driving to a better one. The one in Charlotte Hall legit gets the order wrong EVERYTIME. I stopped eating there for 3 months, go back because we don't have a lot options in Charlotte Hall and they got my order wrong AGAIN, only to stand there an additional 20 minutes inside after we spent 30 minutes in the drive thru. I watched the children they hire carry on about their lives and 1 person cleaned the same counter 4 times while I waited for my order to be correct. The time before the 3 months, I ordered ranch and they blatantly looked me in the eye and gave me less than what they charged me for after I reiterated it for a 2nd time. I think I'm permanently done here even though I enjoy their chicken tenders. It doesn't matter becsuse they get the order wrong EVERYTIME. On top of that I got home and I was already mad about the HOUR wait and realized, they didn't give me a fork OR a spoon! There is no adult there EVER. Take your business elsewhere.
