DeNiro's Pizzeria & Subs — Restaurant in Maryland

After the woman on the phone agreed to delay my order until after I got home at 9pm, she ignored my request and the delivery guy showed up at 8:25pm. At 9:25pm, when I called to see where the pizza was, I figured out the woman never passed the message to the driver to delay delivery. The staff member, followed by the manager, stonewalled me, was unapologetic, and offered no compensation for the wasted time. The driver showed up more than a half hour early. The manager was completely dismissive, offered nothing, and was dishonest. A genuine apology would have been nice, but he covered for the woman I talked to on the phone. Her mistake was an honest one. The manager's mistake was willfully bad leadership on not taking care of a loyal customer, me, who happens to tip extremely well. The other odd part of this is that nobody called me to say the driver was at the house, which either way does not explain why my request for delayed delivery was ignored. The quality of the pizza at Deniros is pretty good, but it does not have the stellar quality of the best NY and NJ pizza places, and I will not miss the poor attitude of the manager. They get one star from me for terribly disrespecting a customer they could have had for years. They also now lose the customers I advised to go there...

I have loved this place for 10+ years but over the past few months to a year the service and quality of food has really started to go down. I ordered an Italian cold cut for dinner and honestly had to open the roll to see if they actually put the meat on it lol. It made subways italian look like a super stuffed sub. Also ordered an Italian cheese steak and there were more pepper and onions then cheese steak with a small amount of sauce on it. Told delivery would be about 30 mins but took just over an hour, which was honestly expected because anytime you call anymore it's an hour plus. One night the girl told me, I really don't know how long it will take, probably close to 2 hours. I canceled my order that night. I hate to stop going here because they have a nice selection of subs, and pizza, but even the quality of that is slipping as of late. Burnt, sloppily put together and cut. Seasons is looking better and better as the quality and freshness of their food is better and never over 30 mins...

we have been loyal customers of Deniros for over 20 years, they were the best pizzeria by far in our area. Friday night we ordered 3 extra large pizzas for delivery and paid over $60 dollars we tipped the driver $10. unfortunately the pizza was terrible, the crust was so under cooked it was barely edible the extra toppings were minimal by far, the sausage, mushroom and onions pizza had virtually no tomato sauce. This isn’t the first this has happened, the last time we ordered from them was a similar situation, we’ve had better frozen pizza than what we paid good money for last night. we gave them the benefit of the doubt because for years they were the best by far. We don’t mind paying for good pizza but not for what we got last night and the time before. We didn’t call to complain we don’t want our money back we just want the best pizza in town. Not sure what has changed but we won’t be ordering from here any more, there are a lot of other pizzerias in the area...
