Don't tip if using the drivers thru. Here is why. 30+ years of driving and not a single time have I damaged my vehicle in a drive thru or from a parking bollard. What is different here at this location to have had such a thing happen. It's the placement and color of the safety bollards at the drive thru window. from what I've been finding is very interesting and from the looks of the bollard. It has damaged quite a few vehicles. More than just the average occasional swipe here and there. This location is different. Photos will be provided to show what is not so much the drivers fault. A quick trip to a few of my regularly visited drive thrus have their bollards a certain way. This Dunkin location has its set up differently and and doesnt follow the same idea of what is more important to protect. Its appearance or customers vehicles safety? Two critical differences give a valid reason to have a damaged vehicle repair be compensated by the owner/operator of this location. Most locations have a tip mug just inside the window and can be reached without issue. Not so here at this location. Just inside the window is too far to reach. So they have a drink cup hanging outside the window. And still for me having a decent reach. It is just outside of reach. So when you go to get just that much closer and drop the tip in the cup. Too late. Your vehicle has just contacted what you are trying to avoid, and your fender is now damaged. Trying to be the genuinely appreciative person I am and every chance I get. And here I get a damaged vehicle for doing so. I know others have done this before me and more will do this after me. So maybe there is just cause for compensation? I was in the drive through and saw the car in front of me take their order and then give back a cup of coffee and hand the cashier their receipt. After a brief exchange they drove off. When I got to the window the cashier handed me my coffee and I immediately asked him if that was the same coffee that had been previously handled by the customer, to which he replied, "yes."
Because of the covid pandemic I did not want to accept a cup of coffee that had been handled by a customer in a car with multiple occupants. I asked the cashier if he could make me another cup and he replied yes. He came back very quickly with a coffee (less than 30 seconds) and gave me my receipt. After driving away I noticed the order number on my receipt did not match the order number printed on the cup; and in addition, the time stamp was wrong. I then realized that they DID NOT make me a new cup, but gave me back the same previously handled cup.
I drove back to the location and explained that the order numbers on my cup and receipt didn't match and they insisted they made me a new coffee, but when I asked why the order numbers didn't match, they never answered the question, she just kept repeating "I made you a new coffee."
In the end I asked and was given a refund (along with a nasty look). I find it incredibly petty that they would disregard standard common sense covid safety protocols to make $2.53. And to lie repeatedly about it instead of just owning it and making it right. I will not be patronizing this...

I get to the window she scans my Mobile rewards and hands me 1 drink, says nothing else, never gave me a receipt. I’m sitting in the drive thru waiting for the second drink when they ask my name I said “I didn’t give a name but I’m waiting for a second tea” and they said no she only charged you for one; however, I was concerned they charged me for 2 teas because my mobile app went from$7 and some change to $0.09 but then she handed me a receipt saying it was one charge so I went ahead and paid again because sometimes the app doesn’t refresh.
