El Pilar — Restaurant in Maryland

I hate rating restaurants this low. But I had no option. To start the rice was very good. That is where the positive ended. I Ordered the el pilar steak, a chicken taco, and chips and salsa. The steak in the el pilar was cooked 5-10 minutes past well done. It was inedible.

The chicken in the chicken taco was extremely dry and I ended up give some to my dog. She ended up eating only one or two pieces and then drank a bunch of water.

I thought surely the chips and salsa would be ok. Well the chips may be fresh made however these were so stale they were probably made during morning prep yesterday.

I like trying new restaurants and I expected the food to be good based on their google rating. Unfortunately I do not see any reason anyone should try...

I been a customer for a long time and we order thousands of dollars for company catering for the employees. They will not let you in because of covid19, i understand that but they use to give you all the sauce you want and today i came to order food and gave a good tip and i ask for one more sauce and the girl got attitude and say that they charge for that now, i told her it was ok to charge but she got actitud and was arguing with me about the sauce and I don't hace a problem paying $2 per sauce my problem is the customer service, that i recieved when i been a good customer and spend a lot from them. I will not come back here and my company will definitely not be back here, I will rather get subway for my guys...

This place is delicious. We have eaten here many times for dinner, it never disappoints. We have tried the breakfast burrito, Huevos Ala Mexicana, guacamole, queso dip & chips, chorizo torta, spicy pork tacos, rice, & seafood taco. ALL of it has been delicious! Every time we eat here I always say I am going to write a review but what really prompted me to do it this time was eating at another local place that just opened that only serves breakfast/ coffee. I was absolutely shocked with the amount 5 star reviews the other place got after eating there. Today we tried the breakfast at el Pilar and it knocked the other place out of the park.
