G&A is a Baltimore classic. Chef Andy & his crew have created the perfect “You are Home HERE!” Environment! The servers & kitchen crew have given my family a place to just sit and enjoy. Chef Andy is a true wizard of the kitchen … he is never ending in his magical works with amazing dishes. You want comfort foods … you want soul … you want “in my nobody opinion” the BEST Crabcakes in Baltimore … from Burgers, Hot Dogs, Chicken and the cleanest fresh Turkey … Yes … I am bias towards my hometown … we all have ours … it is the attitude & atmosphere that made this my personal favorite place! You see … the last two years have been battling stage 4 Melanoma Cancer. It would happen G&A moved from Highlandtown to White Marsh … crossing magically between my treatment location & home. One stop quickly became weekly … which became 2 to 3 times during the heavier treatments. We would go in … grab our usual table … and just be adventurous travels of the menu … jokes & snarks … chats about cats … all along Chef Andy creating … each dish is different but always the same at its heart … and all along not once did I feel like the “cancer patient”! So … taken what you will from this rambling thread … just know if you are open to the possibility … Chef Andy in his Black Puma T Shirt has created a Baltimore Gem … stop in & tell them “that guy who doodles on the checks” sent me in “I heard the Crabcake platter was the end all be all …”

I found this diner searching along my driving route from DC to NJ. Boy, am I glad I took a chance on the unfamiliar (based on ratings and photos in Google maps). The restaurant was easily accessible from the interstate. The town it's in is scenic and quaint. The parking lot made for easy, non stressful parking. Once inside, the staff was accommodating to my senior father's limited mobility (which is important to me). Our waitress was lovely! She was warm (very hospitable), deliberate, and direct in her order, taking while still maintaining a kind smile rich demeanor. Our meal was delicious and just enough. It was flavorful (not salty),not greasy, and perfectly textured. Chefs kiss to the short rib and a very honorable mention to those crab cakes. Those crab cakes were deliciously delightful. They had NO filler! This comes from a girl who grew up in Florida. I can't forget that biscuit that was lightly toasted (thus taking off any potential doughyness)! Can you tell yet that I enjoyed everything about the totality of our dining EXPERIENCE! Chef came out to greet us and ask how we enjoyed our meal. I always appreciate this attentive action. Turns out, he was 3 times a feature on "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives"! Sorry, no pictures of our food. I was hungry, and the food was delicious.

The wife and I were going to Boscov’s so I decided to take her to breakfast. So I went online to find a breakfast spot and saw G&A. The reviews were pretty decent so we gave it a try. Well we made a good choice. Our waitress Lisa was fantastic, very courteous, efficient and friendly. The wife had eggs, scrapple and grits. She said everything was very good except for the grits that were a little cold. I had the breakfast burrito which was excellent, it was hot and packed with scrambled eggs, potatoes, cheese and sausage (yummy). All in all it was a very good experience. This place was a little out of the way from where I live but was worth it. If I’m in the area again, I’ll be back. The only drawback was the restaurant was small.

Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives ALERT!!! If you’re in the mood for some good burgers and hot dogs, this is the spot for you! They have other great items as well but sliders and dogs are what they are known for. My family and I were on our way from Philadelphia to Virginia and this little place came up on our map to stop for lunch. I was in the mood for some good junk food like a nice fat burger and G&A did not disappoint! The staff were SUPER friendly! Made us feel right at home. Our waitress Lisa M. was amazing! Attentive, gave us a quick history lesson on the place and made us feel very welcomed! Within 5 minutes, the owner Andy was at our table chatting us up, telling us about the food and how this restaurant was passed down to him generation after generation. We learned that G&A was featured on Food Network’s Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. I went online and watched the feature afterwards, it was pretty cool. I’ll say it looks like the owner stole Guy Fieri’s hairstyle! It looks good Andy, not knocking ya! We got hot dogs, sliders, burger, French onion soup and fries. The fries really stood out, they are hand cut and double fried homemade style. These ain’t your typical frozen deep fried jawns! The French Onion soup really stood out as well. Perfectly balanced and had slivers of short rib in it. Wasn’t traditional FO but it was really good! Only adjustment I would make is to use thinner, crunchier pickles on the sliders. The thick cut pickles become too mushy and don’t stand out or add anything to the burger. Andy, experiment with some different pickle options, see what you think! My boys loved the hot dogs, I loved the energy and the ambiance of this small family run place, and my entire family had a wonderful time here! Go check...
