Kobe Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Maryland

First time in. The food was very good. Place was slammed when we got there during dinner time, and we waited 15 minutes for a table, no big deal there. We got seated, and then sat for another 20 minutes before someone came to take our order for drinks. When they finally came, we were ready to put in orders for food and drinks. They wouldn’t take our food order, just drinks. another 15 minutes and then they came out with our drinks which was just water, and took our food order. 20 minutes later we got our food. 15 minutes to eat, and another 10 minutes waiting for the bill. All in all, took 95 minutes from when we got there to when we left. This is also accurate because we timed it.

They need more staff during peak hours. It seems maybe someone called out, but judging by other peoples experience, maybe not. Perhaps the host who’s only job appeared to be sitting people, could also take drink orders when they sat people. Instead they stood at the host station at the entrance on their phone waiting for tables to turnover. Maybe help buss tables too.

Tables turnover faster if you take orders asap, and buss tables asap. This business has the potential to increase their revenue by 40% easy.

The atmosphere was kind of annoying actually. Because there’s a bar, with TV’s with no separation from the dining area, it got obnoxiously loud at times. Loud to the point where my wife and I stopped trying to have dinner conversation because we couldn’t hear each other. It had the vibe of a neighborhood bar, where I’m sure they have regulars who come and camp out at the bar.

This place has potential, but I think it’s going to be strictly takeout for us if it’s anywhere near dinner time...

Do not go here unless you want to be hugging the toilet 24/7. I came here with my little cousin the day before thanksgiving to introduce her to one of my fav foods which is sushi. I ordered two sushi rolls and she ordered one and ramen. She did not get her ramen until I said something about it. Every time I needed something I had to call out to my server as he walked right past my table. He never once asked if we needed something after giving us our sushi. Once we got home we were both hit with “food poisoning” which caused us to miss thanksgiving dinner for the first time in our lives. I mean that was my little cousin first experience so I thought she just couldn’t stomach the sushi because I always eat sushi. I should not be running to the bathroom to regurgitate and drop liquid feces in the toilet every minute. My little cousin and I missed our thanksgiving dinner thanks to this restaurant. I just know she’s never going to try sushi again because of this experience. Do not go here if you do not want to be...

We tried Kobe last night for the first time, the customer service is fantastic and the sushi was delicious!!! The only reason I didn’t give five stars is because the service is dreadfully slow. It wasn’t just pacing the food, it was about a 15 minute wait to get our appetizer and then also between everything else, even breaking up receiving the sushi. Despite it taking about 45mins to receive our appetizer and all sushi, the food we ordered togo with our original order still wasn’t done when we finished eating. That is much too slow of a pace (it should only take about 12-15mins to receive your dinner after you order and I feel like delivering half the sushi is like delivery someone’s steak and 15mins later their baked potato). Don’t get me wrong we left very happy, we were just itching in our seats for the rest of our food the entire time. I wouldn’t recommend them for hibachi, it very much tastes like mall hibachi, but their sushi and soups are on point!!!! We will return, just ordering togo...
