Very bad customer service. !!!!!!!!!! My first time at the salon I called ahead of time to ask the price for the style I wanted to get done and was given a price I also stated that I had a flyer for a coupon of $30.00 off. I arrived to the shop and was not greeted friendly also I witness the aggressive treatment another client received and she was a teenager her stylist was very unprofessional and extremely rude and the other stylists in the salon started to carry on aggressively about her. I confirmed my price before my hair was started on in the chair along with my coupon but once my stylist was finished she said my price will be $200.00 dollars I then asked how after on the phone I was told $160 and they will honor my coupon of the $30.00 which will bring my final price to $130. and it was confirmed again before my hair got started she then began to explain that because it took time to do my hair because some parts were shorter than some and also that they meant to say it will be $160.00 and up not just $160.00. But they never said $160 and up they confirmed on the phone $160 and then in person $160 along with honoring my coupon. For the most part my stylist was not rude towards me but however they all chastised and conversed in their language about the clients and their quality of hair. I would not go back to that salon or braid shop or recommend anyone to .!!!! they say one price but change it once your finished and then carry on the most disgusting way and when you question why the change in price. It becomes a big uproar. That’s not professionalism that is not customer service and that is not how you should run a business. While doing my hair if the comb fell from mine or another clients hair they pick the dirty comb up and continue to use it if they stop to eat then they resume with their greasy hands in your hair. You give a price you should stick to it.!!! Not switch it last minute and if the clients hair is short or whatever situation you see once the person arrives that’s when you say well ma’am now that your here and I see your hair this is what I would suggest and it will be this much more not the other...
Read moreMost unprofessional and unorganized!!! On Wednesday, June 22nd, I scheduled an appointment for Wednesday, June 29th @ 5pm. Mind you, I did so by communicating directly with Cynthia Choco through Google Maps messaging. I arrived a the location in Smallwood Village Center on the appointed day at the appointed time only to find the place locked up!!! I immediately go back to the messaging between myself and Ms. Choco to advise/remind her that I had an appointment, but no one was at the shop. She then instructed me to go to the location on Business Park Drive (First Choice Hair Braiding) and ask for Ms. Beatrice. At this point I am a little annoyed, but not angry. I then drove directly over to First Choice and asked for Ms. Beatrice. Ms. Beatrice advised: 1. She knew nothing of my appointment, and 2. She was preparing to leave for the day. She advised me, however, she would be willing and able to do my hair the following day, Thursday, June 30th (which is today). She asked me to leave my name and phone number with her and she would contact me at about 12 noon on that Thursday. Well, 12 o'clock has come and long gone--it is now 7:30pm--and guess what: NO COMMUNICATION FROM MS. BEATRICE. This has to be one of the most unprofessional operations I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. If this is the way you all do business on the regular, I do not know how you keep customers. What make me more angry is that the stylist I did eventually book with for tomorrow (since I never heard from Miss Beatrice) sent me a message advising she does not do braids on Fridays. I needed to have my hair done before Saturday, as I am leaving town early...
Read moreUpdate: 10/3/25 Good Afternoon more than 48 hours have passed from speaking with the owner who is just a liar, stated that she will resolve and call the next day and didn’t. As a customer that was baited and switched services and filed said complaint, The owner made no reply or response from her after I reached out, after stating that she was refunding my money and didn’t. She wanted me to come back to the shop and for what? That was not going to end well oonsidering I my employment they all may have been deported . Instead I opening a State of Maryland Attorney General complaint along with the Better Business Bureau to include a complaint with the State of Maryland Dept of Labor and Licensing Cosmetology Board for your conduct in this matter to include not remedying said complaint as you stated on the review. P.S. Don’t believe a word the owner says !!
Original Review: Good day! called before coming and ask the price of Kinky twist and was Quoted $130 starting. I go there no wait time, seated right away, I told the braider I only wanted shoulder length medium/large braids. That’s because my entire back in my hair is shaved. Bottomline after I. was done the lady charges me $200!!!! The crazy part about it as they were speaking I understood the entire conversation. She told the lady she did micro’s and she didn’t. Bottom line you just lost a customer that supported African businesses and women. To include I will never come back because of the and my hair was...
