Our party of 3 called ahead and made a reservation for the restaurant. It was a bit confusing on the phone, but I chalked that up to a possible busy night. We arrived and parking was limited, but we did find a spot. If you are driving a full-size truck, the parking spaces are tight. We were greeted warmly once arriving and were seated immediately. Our waitress came by and asked for our drinks and a few minutes later we received the drinks, and she took our order. Where we were seated there were about 1/3rd of the tables occupied. Once we gave our order a fair amount of time passed. I ordered a steak with the Ceasar Salad and Fries for sides. The other two ordered a steak dinner and a salmon dinner. While waiting for my salad our drinks were left alone and empty. We had to wave down another waitress to fill them. When my salad came out, it was light on the Ceasar sauce. I took a few bites, and the salad was warm. The temperature suggested that the salad was either left under a heat lamp or had been sitting out for most of the day. I did not finish that salad. We had two separate servers bring food to our table that was not ours. During this time, we had to ask them to bring out more drinks as our waitress had not been back. Once our food came out, the coleslaw was missing. We asked for Malt Vinegar. Another lady came out, said they did not have malt vinegar and asked if we would like anything else. We asked for ketchup and A1 sauce. If we are keeping count this is server #4. My guest's steak was ordered Medium Well. It came out as such and was warm like it should have been. My steak came out Medium Well, though it was ordered Medium. The steak knife brought out with my meal was broken and had two sharp metal protruding pieces. I had to use A1 on my steak due to it being dry and overdone to my liking and more charred than preferred. It was brought out hot. I had to flag down a waitress to get my knife replaced and was given another broken knife. I just dealt with it at this point in the meal. We had to flag down another waitress to get more drink refills. It was not until the end of our meal that our original waitress came back to give us the bill. It was calculated incorrectly and had to be sent back. Our original waitress asked us for dessert, but we declined.
Overall, our experience was poor. The lack of attendance of our waitress was frustrating. Some of the food was good (Salmon and one steak) and others were disappointing (the other steak and salad). I would have asked for the steak to be fixed; however, our waitress did not come back until we were done. The other servers we hailed had quickly left. There were other tables around us asking about where their waitress had gone off to. For the price of the food, the experience with the waitstaff and broken silverware I would not recommend this restaurant. This review is not to bash this restaurant. I hope that the owners see this and help make the experiences of others better. This place has a great potential to be a star eatery. At this time, I would look elsewhere.
I am giving Maria's a Three Star review as the other two in my party enjoyed their food but agreed that the service was lacking, and both would rate it at a 3/5. I had a poor food experience and lack of appropriate service and would give it 2/5. Therefore overall, I will rate this at a 3/5 but would rather give it a 2.5 if I could. ...
Read moreThis establishment defines the worst Service, I have ever encountered. Entering this establishment, I had to locate a Hostess for seating, after waiting at the podium for seating. Once seated. After placing our order. I waiting 20 minutes before I got up to locate my waitress, who was eating pizza on the other side of the restaurant. I did not disturb her. I located the Hostess whom identified herself as the manager to inform her that my table have been waiting 20 minutes for our salads, after others received their soup. The Hostess located our waitress who eventually came out to assist with placing our salads. Along with our Entrée. As our waitress walked away. My party requested refills for our beverages (which appeared as if we were bothering the waitress, she should have just told us to get the refills ourselves, with her unprofessional conduct)We were hesitant to request condiments for our food and other necessities as she ran off. My food was not cooked as requested. (I ordered a house salad, they provide a greek salad. I ordered my selected delicacy to be cooked medium well, it was almost rare) two other individuals in my party had issues with their orders, as well. Still, no waitress to inform. We had to clear our own tables.
We were hesitant to leave. I waited another 15 minutes before locating the Host to inform her of the corrections to be made with our orders. Once again my waitress was located. See was not in great spirits. It appeared that we were the waitress and she was the customer. We finished our meal = waiting to leave. Waiting on someone to hopefully provide us with carryout boxes and the check. The Hostess was leaving for the night (purse in hand) I asked her, if possible, may we have our check so that we could leave as well. I asked to communicate with the manager. The Hostess inform me, she is the manager. I inform her that, I've never experienced such deliberate unprofessional service from a restaurant establishment, ever.
We arrived around 7:30/8 pm. The restaurant was empty around 3 other tables. Each table had there own waitress. The service that was provided, was unaccompanied. The waitress demeanor was unprofessional. The manager delivered was not accommodating. The worst service ever. I bought individuals to the establishment from another state, I was appalled with the entire setting, ...
Read moreNot reliable for delivery. They are always getting something wrong or items are missing. I live out of town but when I come to town for business, they are the closest place to get good crab cakes and other food variety. Again, they’ve messed up an order in the past, but I ordered yesterday and today, and both days my beverage order was either missing or incorrect. The frustrating part is the blame game. Yesterday, the driver who delivered my food said that the restaurant didn’t give them my beverage. Today, my beverage was wrong and the driver said he’s delivering what the restaurant gave him. So when I called the restaurant, they claim the driver is supposed to grab the beverage out of the cooler to take with them. So essentially, they blamed each other as to way my beverage was missing yesterday and why it was wrong today. Ultimately, it is the restaurant’s responsibility to provide the item paid for. Relying on a driver whose job is just to pick up and deliver food is not the way to go. Not to mention, both days, I checked the box to receive utensils. Both days, no utensils. Only a spoon for the soup, but no fork and knife for the entrees I ordered. And today, I ordered 2 entrees for me and a guest and we had to ask the hotel for utensils, which we had to wait for so we wound up having to reheat our food in the room’s microwave. I spent $100 on food and I couldn’t get utensils, even when requesting them? In the special instructions per entree, I asked for tartar sauce for my entree and a tartar sauce for the other entree. They only sent one tartar sauce. So yeah, the food is decent to really good, depending on what you order, but nothing is worth the headache of holding your breath hoping when your order arrives that it’s correct, or being ready to eat, but having to spend an extra 10 or 15 minutes on the phone with the restaurant and the delivery company trying to get your order correct or processing refunds. Too many other good restaurants to have to be stressed out especially when you’re spending that kind of...
