I want to love this restaurant so much as I feel it’s super important to give local businesses support, however the dining experience left me disappointed and hungry. There are a few things this place does very well….. I ordered a peach Bellini and it was delicious. The atmosphere and decor was definitely a highlight. Also, the service was great. Our waitress was attentive and kind and the overall vibe of the restaurant was welcoming and friendly. Having said that, there were some terrible misses with the dining experience. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits, I ordered steak and eggs, and then we ordered a short stack of the carrot cake pancakes to share because the menu description totally sold us. We waited over thirty minutes for our food to arrive and the restaurant wasn’t full. When our food came out the waitress let us know that she was just told they were “sold out” of the pancakes. While disappointing, it wasn’t that big of a deal as we still had our main meals. My husband’s shrimp and grits were average and not as described in the menu as they were lacking the bliss tomatoes. My steak and eggs was a mess. The steak was served already sliced, which is just a weird presentation, I ordered my eggs over medium and they came out scrambled, and the home fries were lukewarm at best. When I requested steak sauce I was told that they don’t have any because they make their sauces from scratch. I would have just asked for new eggs prepared as I had ordered them but I didn’t want to wait another half hour for new food. By then the rest of my meal would have been ice cold and my husband didn’t feel right eating his meal while I was waiting for my meal. At that point, my husband asked for a box and I sent my food back. What had the potential to be a great meal turned out to be no meal at all. We ended up having brunch somewhere else. We still got desserts to go so we could sample the bakery items. We were confused by their offerings because the pastry cases weren’t labeled correctly according to what flavors and desserts were being offered. We were hoping to try the lemon cake and the brownies but they didn’t have either option. All in all, it’s not a place I...
Read morePoor service and operations. I hope that it’s due to them not being open that long but tried to come out and support and never received my food as I waited patiently for my appetizer for an hour. The waitress asked did she service us and then said she gave our food for the wrong person as an explanation and waited for another 20 minutes or so before leaving without receiving the appetizer. The owner or manager paced the establishment supposedly overseeing operations and saw me waiting while other patrons received service before me. In the end I told him we were leaving and I would like to pay for my ice tea. He said they were on the house. Also while waiting for what we wanted to order for dinner we found out it was sold out and waited over an hour to find this out by overhearing other patrons. Our waitress was nowhere to be found. It was horrible experience for me but even noticed the slowness and lack of staffing which everyone orders seem slow for a normal not too busy restaurant . I hope they rebound but will never patronize them again. I wasted an hour and half of my life trying to support a new local establishment in my community . Be better to the proprietors and if you go there prepare for long waits. My wife went to the bakery earlier there today and said she sat for 15 minutes and didn’t receive service. I should have listened. I have been waiting for quality food in my area and this was a huge disappointment for a restaurant I could wait to spend my money on locally. Please try and support them I hope it was just a...
Read moreI went to the opening a couple of weeks ago and have been back multiple times for baked goods. The vanilla and lemon cakes are awesome…fresh, tasty, and creamy icing. The brownies are perfectly chocolate, slightly crispy on the outside and chewy inside. Cookies and cupcakes are wonderful too. Today, I was able to stop for lunch and it did not disappoint. The salmon bites were lovely, tender and tasty and it came with a delicious aioli sauce. I couldn’t resist ordering Mac n cheese and I had liver and gravy that came with rice and collards. I removed the onions as I don’t normally eat them, but I loved everything else. All items are freshly made and presented nicely without being fancy…this is good, home cooking done by people who care about providing great food, desserts, and a wonderful atmosphere. I had to bring home half of everything and I added a slice of cake to go as well. The service is excellent! Everyone is nice and friendly and they greet everyone who walks in. Next up,...
