Mr. Ed's Crabs — Restaurant in Maryland

Decided last minute on a Sunday that we wanted to buy a bushel of crabs for the family. Called Mr. Ed’s (This was my first experience with them, I found them on Google and didn’t realize there was a crab spot so close to my home). We are from Chestertown and typically will make the 1 hour drive back over that way to purchase Crabs if we buy an entire bushel, because the prices on the eastern shore, for crabs are very very good; $175/bushel #1 males. Unfortunately, the place we normally go was all out for the day so we had to find a local spot. Called Mr. Ed’s to inquire about a bushel of #1’s and they said they would give me a call back in a few minutes after they do their account because they just got more in. About 10 minutes later, a sweet young lady called me back to tell me unfortunately they would not be able to fulfill an order for an entire bushel, which was normally priced at $320. Darn. So I start looking on google again. A few minutes later, the young lady calls me back again and tells me they actually can fulfill my order, but it would be a ‘mix’ of #1’s. I wasn’t sure what that meant as I’m used to #1’s being the next step down from XL or jumbos. She said it’ll be a mix of Medium sized #1’s with some large #1’s. Still for $320. We decided to go for it & am so glad we did! I think next time we will go with a half bushel 😂 we had crabs for DAYSSSSSSS! They were never ending! Finally had help yesterday from all of my adult children who helped pick crab meat so I could make crabcakes last night for dinner from all the leftover crabs. I would say I got roughly 3.5 pounds of crab meat. Which made 12 ENORMOUS BACK FIN LUMP CRAB CAKES! Everyone had 1 crab cake and was stuffed. We will be eating the other crabcakes for dinner tonight. A local, family owned place that sells fresh steamed crabs daily. Sometimes so fresh you are eating ones that were caught that morning! First time ordering crabs from them. Seasoned perfectly, very heavy and full of mustard. Hot fresh and done when i requested. free crab paper for the picnic table, and he gave my daughter a little aeroplane made out of different pieces of candy. A great experience and I'm pretty sure I'm not going anywhere else...
