do not go to this place if you value your dollar. I have went to this place for many of years. When the owner used to be there on the daily, she sold it to someone else, and another gentleman owned it. I still went there. It was amazing, she end up buying it back, great! When she is not there and whoever it is that are there running the place there’s a lady with glasses that works there. She’s very rude. She has no personality. There’s always some thing. I went there five days in a row, I was charged a certain amount for tea. I go back and they try to overcharge me two times for the exact purchase that I purchase five times being there. I also get tea from there when I go there to get tea there is a guy there. I’m not sure if he’s the owners husband or what but each time I purchase some thing the young lady that is there is being told to charge me more for whatever I’m purchasing, including trying to charge me for honey. It’s unfortunate because I used to love this place, but they would not get a dime from me nor my family anymore. The nickel and diming, and unfairness to customers is not fair. Do not go there. I remember when all they had was one size for their cups, which would be a size medium and when I always got my teas, I always got two bags, now with the guy there and the lady in the glasses, they are telling the girl at the front to charge me almost 2 dollars for one little teabag for that big cup. I just went ahead and went back to the Starbucks in the Safeway in the shopping center. It is hard to support mom and pop places when they do things like this you’re better off giving Starbucks and Dunkin’...
Read moreI usually come here to get some work done because I love the atmosphere, and I enjoy trying new things on their menu. My experience today though was frustrating.
I came in with a light appetite, but knew after submitting some work I’d be ready to order an entree. In the meantime, I’d snack on some of their pringles that cost $1.90. The attendant immediately asked if I was going to sit down with my computer. I said yes, and she then explained I needed to buy something with a higher price. I told her I would, but would not in the moment because I wanted a hot entree which be cold by the time I wanted to eat it. She then brought it to my attention that the credit card minimum was $3. And I said okay, I’ll just wait to order my big entree because I did not have cash. She said that I had to make a bigger purchase, otherwise I couldn’t sit down. I did not stay.
While I completely understand and personally adhere to making purchases at establishments that provide sitting areas with amenities like WiFi and AC, I’m upset at how this interaction went. The attendant was very adamant for me to purchase something bigger on the spot; forcing me to choose between buying something I didn’t want or leaving. I didn’t...
Read moreI like this place. I come here for a bagel and coffee while the kiddo is in preschool. Good place to relax for an hour or two.
Customer mix seems to be standard coffee shop: college students, seniors, and business people holding informal one-on-one meetings. Oh, and two guys (regulars) who are always here with their laptops, occasionally chatting on their phones, and basically using the free wifi for their business dealings (whatever it may be...my theory is that they're Glengarry Glen Ross-type salesmen, selling fake real estate, but who knows? Maybe one day I'll be bored enough to ask them. Anyway...).
Staff is friendly. Place is clean. Prices are...okay. A little high, but comparable to Panera. (I'd rather support a small business like this, though, than Panera.)
I like the way they grill their bagels like a panini. Different. They have a big selection of baked goods: cakes, cupcakes, etc., but I'm not sure how often they change them out for fresh ones. I bought a brownie once and nearly broke my jaw trying to bite it. I'll stick to the bagels and coffee from now on.
Give 'em a try. Small businesses need...
