North Point Diner — Restaurant in Maryland

I've tried this place 2 times because the reviews were always decent and my SIL always raves about the place. But both times I got sick and said never again but since my SIL loves this place I never put a bad review out there until today because of her experience with my 76 yr. old father in law. The waitress there today was absolutely horrible and rude. He always gets pancakes there they were told they don't serve them after 12, my sister in law politely says are you sure it isn't 1 we usually come here around this time and get them she said no so they asked for a few moments to go over the menu. The waitress walked by them and said loudly I've been here 20 years and never served pancakes after 12! They sat there for a long while she never came back then they heard her speaking rudely about them to another customer that was sitting behind them! They of course got up and left! That was totally uncalled for I'll be sure to let anyone who asks about this place to to never go there! To the waitress if you are that miserable either at work or your home life maybe you shouldn't be in customer service! We are trying to enjoy the moments we have with our father before his dementia takes over and he doesn't know us but because of you, you ruined on of his favorite places to eat!...

Food was good, prices fair, service was abysmal. We were never greeted at the door, and eventually just seated ourselves. After 10 minutes, we had some menus dropped on our table and were told the server would be back. The attitude would fit in perfect at the DMV. Another 15 minutes and the server came over without even a greeting or a smile. When my mother ordered, she was asked what kind of toast with her meal, but when she asked about the pancakes, was told she was being charged extra because she ordered toast. Pancakes come with the meal, btw. Food took another 40 minutes, during which everyone else in the place had been served, including people that came after me. Wrong eggs, and when I asked about my toast, was given a nasty "its coming" in response. Server never offered us coffee refills, we had to grab her as she helped another table for the check. When it arrived, she just shook her head and dropped it on the table before walking away without a word. I mean, seriously, what did we do to her?

Needless to say, we will not be returning, and I hope she is happy with the 11% tip she earned. And I usually never tip...

The breakfast my Marine & I had there was fantastic & very reasonably priced 👍 Even though they were short staffed, the staff was courteous, attentive & nice.

The atmosphere was like a 'Mom & Pop' type diner... Comfortable, relaxing & enjoyable, and you get to seat your self. Old school! The food was freshly prepared & absolutely delicious!!! I can't wait to go again & am looking forward to sampling their lunch & dinner menus. If they're anything like breakfast, we're in for a treat☺️ I wish there were more stars available... If give them a 10!!!

For those who complain... Pay attention to the signs in the window that say hiring for all shifts, and for goodness sakes open your mouth if you need something... They're not mind readers. These people hustle to give you the best service they can.
