I was recommended by my co-worker to have my fist work group gathering here. I reserved tables for a group of 15. When I first arrived, I was greeted immediately and was taken to our section. Jason was a great server, but we only had his services for only 30 minutes as he was about to get off. Everyone loved the Catfish, Tilapia, hush puppies, and onion rings. We wanted to order a bushel of crabs for the entire group, but was told they only had two dozen....smh. The crabs had too much water in them, and this made the meat of the crab very mushy. They only gave us three mallets for a group of 15, and when we requested to get more, they only gave us one. After Jason (the waiter left), we sat and waited for another waiter for about 35 minutes, until one of my co-workers waved another waiter down for assistance. At this time, several other groups begin to come in, and we truly was ignored then by the staff. It took us an additional 15 to 20 minutes to get our drinks. Another waiter ask us if we were finished with our mallets, because they needed them back for the next group....WTH???? You reuse mallets....wowwwwwww! Excuse me...if you going to serve crabs, you should have more than four mallets, they literally cost $30.00 a unit on Oriental Trading. I'm still trying to figure out how you tell my group you did not have enough crabs for us, but was able to accommodate two other groups that came in after us...once again, smh! Sorry for the long review. I just figure if I spend over $500.00 plus a big tip, I lease can get more than four mallets. First and last time will visit this place. (Just...
ย ย ย Read moreFirst, let me say that the "star" given for this review is only reflective of the GOOD service received from the servers and management.
Unfortunately, the food experience was not the worthy of any additional stars. Much of the menu comes to you in the boil bags, which is to be expected when reading the menu (so no issues with this). The issue is that the food is under-cooked.
The order consisted of fried catfish, crawfish, crab leg clusters, and shrimp. The fish had a crunchy crust with some flavor, but was not completely cooked in the center. The crab leg clusters were also under-cooked. And everything lacked flavor, likely based on the contents of the seafood boil bags being overly saturated in an oil of some sort (not seasoning or butter) that was probably never changed out and also utilized for all the food they prepared. So essentially, everything was cooked in the same "grease" and had the same taste (or lack, thereof).
AND HERE IS THE WORST PART... Upon opening the boil bag for the crab leg clusters, there was an OVER-SIZED HOUSEFLY drowning in the pool of oil in plain sight.
THE SERVER AND MANAGER WERE VERY APOLOGETIC. THANK YOU! It's understood that some things can accidentally happen. But understandably, this did not fair well for the overall experience. And I wholeheartedly agree with reviews that suggest the food needed to either be cooked longer and/or taken home to be additionally seasoned. But, this kinda defeats the purpose of eating out (in my...
ย ย ย Read moreSo where do I begin? The food was good, but the portion size in comparison to its price is off. I came with a group and we ordered, but had to repeat ourselves at least 3x. I ordered 1/2lb king crab and only received 1 leg, 1 potato, and 1 corn and barely any sauce. Mind you, I paid $20 for this meal. Joe(the waiter) was kind enough to comp some fried shrimp for me. After MOST of us received our order, one of the members in my group had to tell the waiter a couple more times what she ordered. Joe(the manager) stormed to our table frustrated and with an attitude and asked us all to pay attention while he called out all our meals all over again and the ladies at the end of the table could not hear him, so he caught a bad attitude when there was no response for half the meals. Joe(the manager) did not even think twice about apologizing until I asked him for an apology. Before I could even finish explaining what he needed to apologize for, he quickly apologized. But I really donโt feel like he knew what he was apologizing for, because all I said was โI think we deserve an apologize....โ and then he came with the excuses. In all that is explained I must say that this restaurant needs better management and needs to train their staff more. My group and I will are highly disturbed with this customer service. I would not recommend this restaurant until they are under better management unless you are just...
