Rosie’s is nearby and I heard great things about it. I have traveled far for hoagies and cheesesteaks. From the White House Subs in Atlantic City to Pudge’s in Pa, I appreciate a good sandwich. I know what I like about these places. So I do feel a bit jaded when it comes to these things. It is all relative so take my opinion for what it is.

The first appearance is great. Love the cleanliness and the spaciousness. It is basically a small corner store mart. As you can see from the pictures, there is quite the variety. The staff was friendly. I was greeted by a nice young lady, and me being there for the first time, she was patient and helped me with my order.

Now for the food, I just went with the basics. In this case, the Italian hoagie and a cheesesteak. It was good but there were couple of things that needs to be improved. The rolls felt like they were stale. I am used to rolls that have a slight crust but a soft almost chewy textured inside. Neither of these sandwiches had that. I can overlook a lot of things but that is the first thing my mouth noticed. All the I gradients tasted fresh, except for the rolls. The sliced meats are about the average thickness but I prefer a little thicker slices. This way, you really taste the individual meats. As for the cheesesteak, I am not a fan of cheese wiz on my cheesesteak. That is why I never goto Pat’s steaks in Philly. If I knew, I would have asked for the provolone. But that is on me not knowing what is on the order.

So in conclusion, there is a lot to like about Rosie’s Deli. If their roll game was upped a bit, it would be a whole lot better. I may go back to try their other offerings, and hopefully, by that time, the rolls are a bit different. I would honestly say it was a 3.5 out of 5 stars but a good bread would bring...

Love this place though they have a systemic problem with communication and customer service.

Don’t get me wrong, the food is fabulous and you get what you pay for but when ordering online the food is almost always ready 10-15 minutes after the quoted time in their email. This leads to the waiting area being typically packed with people waiting.

Further more they don’t call out the food when it’s ready for pick up. I’ve been in the restaurant (picking up an online order that has a few specialized drinks so they’re distinctive by sight) and they’ll put the food on the rear counter… but not call out the name… so then you have to make your way to the front of the counter (it’s usually packed with people waiting) and then seemingly interrupt a staff member to have them give you your food. You’d think if the place is packed with people standing… and an employee is bringing the food over to the ā€˜pick up counter’ (that is out of reach of the customers) that you’d, ya know, use common sense to call out the order… especially if you want people to clear our to make the place less crowded.

I come a few times a month and get the same order so I now find I have to boldly interrupt someone to do something obvious like greet you or check if you’re there to pick up food. It seems like common sense or just the most basic level of customer service but either the place is under staffed or not trained on common sense logistics…

And it’s not an isolated incident, it’s dang near consistent in...

We stopped here for lunch as an alternative to the chain sandwich place across the street. The menu has a various assortment of cold and hot sandwiches and subs. Two of us got the chicken Parm, one bada bing, and one turkey and cheese. They have a cooler of bottle beverages, no fountain sodas that I saw. It's not a typical convenience store. While they have some rolls and milk, the "groceries" are limited to imported and American made Italian products (think Sons of Italian brand, bottles of EVOO, dry pastas, sauces, Italian cookies and pastries, etc). The coolers have fresh homemade pastas, sauces, desserts, local dairy-farm products (milk, cream, ice cream), specialty cheeses. There's a "Local" shelf with honey, prepackaged candies, locally made chocolate, Fisher's popcorn, etc. They had some grab and go preassembled cookie trays and gift baskets. The store was clean and well organized. Service was polite and friendly. Our food was fresh and delicious. Would definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area for a sports event (large rec complex across the street) or buying your Christmas tree as there's a precut tree lot also...

Hey Nomsters! I was in the mood for a delish sandwich today so I ventured out to Glenwood to try a spot I’ve never been to before 🤤 Rosie’s Delicatessen is famous for their subs, and they’re located in the same complex as their sister restaurant, Walker’s (known for American dishes with a twist). I haven’t been yet, but I’ve heard AWESOME things so I’ll probably be featuring them in the future, lol šŸ˜… ANYWHO, here’s what I got today: ā–ŖļøRosie’s Italian (half for $9.50): yahhh don’t judge me for getting 3 different subs, lol. It took me about 30-40 minutes to get there so I wanted to try different things since I made the trip. This was probably my fave out of everything I got. It was stuffed with hot cappy, Genoa salami, pepperoni, ham, and provolone, and I added the works + hots! The bread was delicious, and it was very well balanced. Highly recommendā€¼ļø ā–ŖļøChicken Parm (half for $8): I’m a sucker for chicken parm so I had to give this a try. The chicken was nice and crispy, and it was smothered in a homey marinara with melty mozz on top. Yum! ā–ŖļøNY Chop Cheese (half for $9): I haven’t had a chopped cheese in a minute, and I really enjoyed this one. This was made with JW Treuth group beef, fried onions, american cheese + a special sauce. Delicious and very comforting! The meat was very tender, and I loved that you got a bit of everything in each bite. Additional Notes šŸ“ ā–ŖļøThey have a counter inside + some tables outside of their restaurant ā–ŖļøThere’s a deli inside with all kinds of goodies so make sure you take a look see before or after you enjoy your sammies ā–ŖļøBreakfast is from 7-11am and lunch starts at 11am. Cold subs are available from 9am daily though! ā–ŖļøThey offer meats, salads and cheese by the lb ā–ŖļøThey have gluten free sub rolls available & plenty of vegan/veggie options Have you guys been to this NY style Italian deli yet? We pulled off for a quick breakfast stop on our way out to PB Dye golf course. We ordered breakfast sandwiches and coffee. The place was clean inside, good aesthetic, some aisles with grocery food items avaialble, refrigerators with drinks. The taylor ham, egg & cheese sandwich I ordered came out very good, gotta order double egg though (I felt the double egg was perfect size and fulfilling, my friends who ordered regular egg & cheese felt it was smaller than they'd hoped). I had to dock a couple stars because the overall experience was 'eh' for 2 reasons -- sandwiches took forever to make; what we thought would be a 10-15min pit stop turned out to be closer to 35 mins and we were late for golf. Also, no bathrooms inside? I've never been to a place in a rural area that serves coffee and breakfast sandwiches but no bathroom. Edit: Will add a star back since bathroom situation is out of their control.
