I would give 0 stars if possible. I took my daughter to lunch, and she unfortunately found hair in a piece of her sushi. We brought it to the waitress' attention, who got the manager. The manager stated it was fur not hair and that he could send it to the DNA lab. The entire time he was staring at my daughter's hair. As if that was not bad enough, he then asked if we had come there before and found fur in our food. This is the second (and last) time I've been to this establishment and the only time my daughter has. This is not how you treat people, let alone your customers. And, to top it all off, he asked us to not return. Why would we? I would hope that anyone reading this review would boycott this restaurant.
I AM UNSURE OF HOW TO RESPOND, SO I AM EDITING MY POST AS FOLLOWS:
(1) YOU DID RECEIVE PAYMENT FOR SERVICES PROVIDED THAT WERE LESS THAN PAR, SO YOU MIGHT WANT TO RETRACT THAT STATEMENT, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE CONCERNED ABOUT JEOPARDIZING RIGHTS. I PAID YOU, IN CASH, $23 TO BE EXACT.
(2) YOU DID OFFER TO MAKE ANOTHER ROLL BUT WE DECLINED DUE TO THE INCIDENT. NOT ONLY BECAUSE THERE WAS HAIR IN THE FIRST ONE, BUT BECAUSE OF YOUR INITIAL REACTION TO BEING INFORMED ABOUT THE CONCERN.
(3) YOU DID NOT DISCUSS PRICING AT ALL. IN FACT, THE BILL PROVIDED DID NOT EVEN OFFER A DISCOUNT! ACCORDING TO YOUR LUNCH SPECIAL, IT WAS $11.95 FOR THREE ROLLS AND $8.95 FOR TWO ROLLS, FOR WHICH, WITH TAX, YOU WERE PAID IN FULL.
(4) I DID NOT BECOME IRATE (ALTHOUGH IN RETROSPECT I SHOULD HAVE) UNTIL, AS YOU WALKED AWAY, YOU ACCUSED MY CHILD OF COMING THERE BEFORE AND ACCUSING YOU OF THE SAME THING. IT WAS AT THIS POINT THAT I APPROACHED YOU AND SPOKE UP.
(5) NOT ONCE DID YOU APOLOGIZE FOR THE MISHAP, BUT INSTEAD SEEMED TO BE ACCUSING HER OF PLACING "FUR" IN HER FOOD. HOW DISRESPECTFUL ON SO MANY LEVELS! AS A CUSTOMER, SHE HAD EVERY RIGHT TO BRING THE INCIDENT TO YOUR ATTENTION.
(6) THE FACT THAT YOU STATE THAT YOU STILL HAVE "THE FUR" JUST REINFORCES WHAT I SAID. SHE MADE MENTION OF HAIR; YOU SAID IT WAS FUR AND THAT YOU WOULD SEND IT TO THE DNA LAB, ALL WHILE STARING AT HER HAIR.
THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT THIS BEHAVIOR IS UNACCEPTABLE, AND TO BE QUITE HONEST, FEELS AS IF IT IS RATHER RACIST. AS A RESULT, I HAVE CHOSEN TO POST REVIEWS TO LET OTHERS KNOW ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED.
IN ADDITION, I HAVE REPORTED YOU TO THE BBB, AND WILL BE CONTACTING THE STATES ATTORNEY. NO ONE DESERVES TO BE SPOKEN TO IN THE MANNER IN WHICH YOU SPOKE TO MY CHILD. THAT, SIR, IS NOT UP FOR DISCUSSION.
YOU MAY FEEL AS IF I ACTED IN AN EXTREME MANNER, BUT MOST PEOPLE IN MY SITUATION WOULD HAVE ACTED OUT EVEN MORE. THIS IS NOT ABOUT GOODS, SERVICES, OR MONEY, FOR THAT FACT. THIS IS ABOUT DIGNITY AND RESPECT, AND HOW YOU...
Read moreMyself and my fiancé have been dining in at this location weekly since January 2023 and have had great experiences until the past few months as staffing has changed. The quality of food and service has significantly declined. For dine in, wait times have increased and over the past several visits, waiters would attempt to take our plates prior to us finishing the food, making us feel rushed. On 8/6, we had just returned from a road trip and ordered our usual food to go because we had our dog with us in the vehicle. My fiancé went in to pick up the order, and requested for the the soup, sushi q appetizer, and cake we usually get for free to be included in our order. The host said that she would provide this, so my fiance paid and tipped, only to find that we were charged additionally for the appetizer and not given soup or cake. He went back into the restaurant to explain the issue, and then was told those items were only provided for dine-in orders, and after complaining more he was given one slice of cake for free (host initially tried to charge him for this) and this is after giving a tip and being overcharged! We have ordered out from locations in Glenburnie and Pikesville and were always given appetizers and desserts in the past, so I am not sure why this location does not provide this, especially for customers who spend an average of $40 including a 20-30% tip at this location, weekly for many months. Management has bad business practices in dealing with customer concerns and as previously loyal customers, we will not be returning to...
Read moreTruly the best sushi place in owings mills! I’ve been here so many times and have never been disappointed. I’ve ordered almost everything off their menu from the appetizers, to the sushi to the entrees and everything is absolutely exquisite and top quality. I’ve lived in owings mills all my life and have tried all the Japanese/sushi and Chinese food places around here and this place has the best fried rice I’ve ever had. It’s so flavorful you don’t even need soy sauce. I’ve gotten the chicken and shrimp so far and the shrimps are huge. Not small and skimpy like a lot of other places around here. The sushi is phenomenal. I’ve also had the calamari which is some of the best around here as well. Even better than some of the crab places in owings Mills. I highly recommend this place. I’ve gotten take out and have sat down and the service is impeccable. They’re so attentive and kind and really out going. When you sit down to eat you’re giving the full experience with soup and a free dessert. I’ve also occasionally randomly been given a free sushi roll on the house for take out. I just love their service and I always try to tip. The people that run this place are very kind and really know...
