Review of White Plains Wawa (across from CVS): Incident Date: October 28th, 2024, 3:56 PM
I am deeply disappointed and disturbed by the treatment I received at this Wawa location. As someone who has often chosen Wawa for its service and convenience, my recent experience here left me feeling racially profiled, disrespected, and completely disregarded.
I entered the store around 3:56 PM to use the ATM, but it wasnât working properly, and my money ended up stuck in the machine. When I asked for assistance, a young lady on staff attempted to help and brought over a manager named Timothy, a tall, pale-skinned man with grey hair and a slightly flamboyant demeanor. Unfortunately, Timothyâs attitude toward my situation was nothing short of condescending and dismissive.
As I explained my issue, Timothy immediately seemed annoyed. He turned up his face in various expressions, clearly uninterested in assisting me. Instead of addressing my concerns, he made a snide comment, saying, âWell, thereâs nothing I can do about that,â and moved the âATM not workingâ sign to the next machine without so much as an apology.
When I expressed my frustration and requested a refund, Timothy escalated the situation furtherâhe called the cops on me. However, when a white customer entered the store right after me and had the same issue with the ATM, Timothy had no problem calmly explaining to him that the machine was out of service. This contrast in treatment was blatantly obvious and made me feel as though I was being singled out, profiled, and ultimately discriminated against.
To Timothy, the supposed face and representation of Wawa at this location, I feel compelled to say that this treatment is beyond unacceptable. Thankfully, the two ladies on shift that day were kind, understanding, and genuinely tried to assist me through the ordeal. I am grateful for their professionalism and compassion, which starkly contrasted Timothyâs behavior.
I expect that Wawa, as a company that prides itself on customer service, takes such incidents seriously and holds its staff accountable. Timothyâs treatment was not only unprofessional but felt like a targeted act of discrimination, which should not be tolerated by any business.
This experience has left a negative impact on me, and I hope Wawa management will address this situation to ensure that no one else has to feel...
Read moreSecond horrible experience at this Wawa Billingsley today that I will never go to this location anymore. Waited for curbside pickup order from 4.48pm til 5.30 pm.45 mins wait and messed up my order big time. Paid for 2 drinks and some snacks and they had the nerve to tell me I only paid for 1.I had to show them the items that I paid two times to 2 different people. I was very angry today and had to call them 4 times in 30 mins time. One white old girl had the nerve to tell me to go inside while I have 3 little dogs in the car with me. I order curbside pickup meaning you have to bring the order curbside in 5 mins period. Very unorganized people and very rude. Spendin too much money at this Wawa and will not give them any more business. The other day I paid for 2 beef steak paying. $8 each and it says 2 on the receipt but that guy only made 1. Total order that day was $35.So I had to wait for him again to make my order and told me to wait in line to get a bag after I already waited for my order. These people are rude and disrespectful and and no manager to organize them. Bad business. I rather go to starbucks and mcdonalds then go to wawa. Horrible...
Read moreKristina - cashier was very unprofessional and needs additional training in attention to detail. I asked if she could break $100 before she opened the register, she replied yes. She rung up my $9.00 items and proceeded to start counting $5.00 bills. I told her I didnât want $5s and $1s as my change and to give the $100 back. She then drops the $100 in there safe and says, I dropped it and we canât open it. I told her I wanted my money back. She huffs and sighs and calls a manager. Ashley - manager was so apologetic and welcoming. She was very polite and professional. She asked if I could wait around for the register to get a few $20s. I told her I didnât mind waiting because the stack of $5,$1s wouldnât fit in my wallet. I truly thank Ashley for helping me out. Kristina, if you want to make it out of WAWA, check your attitude and take a few customer...
