This was not what we were expecting. The hostesses were great; we got seated right away even though the restaurant was packed. We sat down, and someone brought us chips and salsa. We started looking at the menu, which is huge, and we couldn't find drinks on our menu. The server came to our table about 10 minutes after the chips. We asked about a drink menu, and he pointed out a menu that was at the table, which was just alcoholic beverages. Then he just left. He walked by our table at least five times and didn't even ask us what we wanted to drink. After several minutes, he finally came back, and we asked him if they had any non-alcoholic beverages. I guess this guy didn't want to work that day. He rolled his eyes up, took a deep breath, and mentioned a couple of drinks. To make it easy, I asked him if they had lemonade, to which he replied, "Hmm, maybe." I mean, what kind of answer is that? So the three of us at the table decided to go for lemonade, which, in the end, was just some watered-down pink lemonade that was more water than lemon juice. We didn't complain; we just took it. Whatever.
We ordered our food. My wife got the enchiladas special, our friend got the flautas, and I got the chiles rellenos. What a terrible decision we made... The flautas were dry as a sandbag, super hard to cut through, and the pork or chicken was just so dry, like it had been in the freezer for months. My wife's enchiladas had tomato sauce on top that tasted like it had been dropped from a can right onto the enchiladas. But the worst part was the chile relleno. If you know how to make a chile relleno, you'll understand why I'm upset. Who in their right mind cooks an omelet, throws it on top of the pepper, and calls it a chile relleno? You're supposed to beat the egg, coat the pepper, and fry it. As a cook myself, I felt embarrassed about this restaurant being open. These people should be ashamed of what they're serving. No wonder we didn't see any Latinos eating here, except for us. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY...
Read moreI have been to this establishment before and haven't had an issue . This time around I went and had an awful experience . My fiancée , her grandmother , and I came in thinking it was going to be a wonderful experience . We ordered acoholic beverages , a Taco supreme , and two arroz con pollo's . While we were eating my fiancée then proceeds to find a piece of plastic in her lettuce and shows the waiter . He then proceeds to ask "where is the plastic?" we show him and he offers a remake or refund . Now , that's not where our issue lies . Not once was there an apology , now I know mistakes happen because I have been in the food service industry for a long time . Now the entire time it felt like judgement towards my fiancée due to how the waiter acted with them compared to me and her grandmother . we brushed it off and made jokes about it . Now , before I go on , I am a big tipper when we go out . I know that most of the time that's all the server makes in a night and it can be hard . Now , because of the experience we had with no check ups on our table , no offer of refills , no apology for the mistake , no remorse , nothing , I didn't tip . We're getting up from the table and the waiter grabs the reciept and then proceeds to go to my financee and asks "Why no tip ?" and they then tell him that , "it's because of the plastic and the way the service was ." With no empathy in mind the waiter then goes , "It's not my problem for the plastic , I took it off the bill for you" Mind you , he never once spoke to me or their grandmother that way . They never paid , I paid for the meal . As a treat for her grandmother turning 90 soon and she's visiting in town . Not only did it make us feel uncomfortable but ruined their grandmothers first time there , the actions presented by that waiter was unacceptable , coming from someone who again works in food service . We will NOT be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIts been about a year since we've dined here. Usually during the evening for dinner the food and experience has been pretty good. But this time we stopped for a late lunch. It was the time between lunch and dinner. We walked in to find one couple waiting to pay and one customer waiting to order a take out. While we were wating to be seated. The person at the checkout/check in was on the phone. We waited 5-10 min before we were acknowledged and before someone finally seat us and brought chips and salsa.
Chips tasted stale, but the salsa was okay. We ordered the soup, Sopa de Pollo, the soup, Sopa Azteca and the Advacado salad, all which we've had here before and had been our favorites. In addition, we each ordered one item from the A la Carte menu. I ordered the tamala and my spouse the cheese enchilada.Ā There was a large group of about 15 people and maybe two other couples dining.
When our food finally came out, the soup serving plates with bowls were hot but the soups were lukewarm. The sopa Azteca comes with sour cream and shredded cheese on the side to later be put in the soup. But the soup was not warm enough to melt the cheese. The tortilla strips in the soup was stale. My Advocado salad was a disappointment, because at first I couldn't find the advocado. Finally found two small pieces of advocado. My chicken tamale was covered with thick mole sauce that the sauce covered the entired plate, I almost could not find the one tamale. Once I found the tamale there was about two small forks of shredded chicken sitting on top of a hunk of the thick masa. This is the first time we have ever NOT completed our meal or take home leftovers. This time our visit was NOT a good experience! We won't...
