Copper Compass Craft Distilling Co. — Local services in Waldorf

I found this place on tiktok. I decided to call my family and go. This was a Saturday night. They have a food truck.

We were never greet by a host or at least a sign. So we jus sat down for 20 minutes before making our own plan.

There was only one bartender. She was overwhelmed because there was 30 ppl she had to wait on. So, we did not have the greatest experience. I asked for a flight. She laid them out told us what they were and left.

We wanted to order a drink we had to go to the bar. She said she would bring it to us. 37 mins later we decided to go to the bar to get it. We had the smoked spiced old fashioned which was good.

Don't drink the margarita. They premixed the drink. They had the containers on the side of the bar. You could not take liquor just juice.

The owner was present, but he looked over wheeled. He was nice but did take the time to talk to us nor greet us to see how we found this place. We did not even get "Sorry for the slowness".

Ill come back one more time but this impression...

I was so impressed with Copper Compass day one when I was invited to a Summerfest event back in January that I immediately spoke to the owner and asked him to host a major event for the Chamber of Commerce in February. Over 125 Chamber members attended and found it to be a wonderful location as well.

This “hidden gem” in White Plains is a Veteran and Black owned family business that has a distillery on site so the rum is ALWAYS fresh! They also use REAL FRUIT for their specialty drinks. My personal favorite is the AWARD WINNING “Lemon Drop”!

The atmosphere is inviting and they have the ability to have private parties and be open to the general public without interruptions.

Rum lovers have to visit! Their craft cocktails will keep you coming back. Take the tour to meet the owner and learn more about rum. Stay for a cocktail and tastings to fall in love with this small batch rum. We liked all of them, making it hard to decide which bottles to get. Appreciated that they didn't add sugar after the distilling process, it made the rum just right on the sweetness level. Their spiced rum has star anise, adding that extra spice to set it apart from all the other rums I've tried.
