I'm very sorry, but if I could rate the Broiled Haddock dinner I just tried to eat negative stars I would. From the Clam Chowder Soup that had little to no seasoning (even though there were 2 huge Bay Leaves in my cup, Oh & my husband's Italian Wedding Soup also had Bay Leaves left in it too! & can't believe I have to say this, but FYI, you need to remove those before serving!!) to the cement like mashed potatoes, that I had to thin out by adding milk & butter to get them down, to the haddock that was mediocre at best (maybe try not over cooking thinner pieces of fish so they don't turn out tough) For $14.99 I would hope to atleast get food that was edible. I'm not even going to get into my poor husband's $17.99 Beer Battered Fish Dinner. I'll just say if you like 3 tiny flaked pieces of fish that are surrounded by thick greasy batter & only tastes like the grease thats glowing all over them, then I guess you'll LOVE it & if not then I suggest you go elsewhere for a fish dinner!! Also, I would really watch if you are calling in an order for pick-up that you aren't charged for more than you should be....like for the 2 sides that your meal actually comes with like we were, because you'll just have the hassle of having to go back for the reimbursement & with what they charge for sides you better believe you're gonna want to go back for that!! Now, I will say that they did give my husband 2 more beer Battered pieces of fish to go with the dinner that he had already brought home when he had to go back for the side reimbursement, but unfortunately due to the grease he was barely able to eat any of it & what he did eat has now caused him to have sharp belly pains. This is all so upsetting especially for having paid $36+ for these 2 dinners!!
It has been sad to watch the lil Marysville Diner that was once a fantastic & delicious place to go, no matter what time of day, turn into just another casualty of all the new owners since the original owners sold some years back, with no idea what they are doing, line-cook turnovers (with a total lack of knowledge on how to even make basic foods) & poor management to boot, because even with complaints over the years nothing changes & that's on them & whoever the owners are at the time!! Well no more for us, we have given enough chances over the last few years with horrible food each time & we just aren't willing to put our belly's, bowels or wallets through any more torture here. Sorry
Sadly We can no longer recommend eating at Marysville All...
Read moreribs had to be lab grown, the bones literally were like rubber; they were quite literally jiggly. i would never wish my for my worst enemy to eat these. don’t even know where to begin. The ribs I got at this so-called “diner” were an absolute disaster—like someone cooked regret and disappointment, then slathered it in what I assume was expired barbecue sauce.
First off, the texture. Have you ever chewed on an old leather belt? No? Well, congratulations, because I just did. The meat was tougher than my grandma’s attitude, and trust me, she once fought a raccoon over a pie. It was dry, flavorless, and had the structural integrity of drywall. I wouldn’t be surprised if they boiled these ribs in tap water and then left them under a heat lamp for three days.
And the sauce—oh, the sauce. It was like someone mixed ketchup with sadness and a hint of broken dreams. It had the consistency of glue and the taste of betrayal. I asked the waiter if they made it in-house, and he just stared at me like he was begging for help.
Let’s talk about the sides. The coleslaw tasted like it was made by someone who fundamentally hates vegetables. The fries were cold and soggy, as if they were fried last Tuesday. And the cornbread? I could’ve used it as a doorstop.
To top it all off, the service was slower than a sloth on a lazy Sunday. By the time the food arrived, I had aged emotionally, spiritually, and possibly physically.
Would I recommend this place? Only if you have a deep-rooted grudge against someone and want to watch them suffer. Otherwise, stay...
Read moreBeen coming here for breakfast on the weekend, genuinely, for about 7 years now. The food is typically very good. It's a diner and cooks are humans so sometimes there are mistakes, but they are corrected. Service is always friendly and never an issue. You're never left waiting for someone to take care of you and there's always someone to grab if you need something. The staff have been here for a long time and treat you with kindness and familiarity. It's a great family atmosphere* and dining experience. It's part of the reason that so many customers keep coming to the same place every weekend.
A new owner recently took over and immediately raised the prices of menu items, some by a whole dollar. Prices have already been rising steadily over the years, but this feels more like the customers paying for the purchase of the diner rather than the cost of food or supplies. Over the last year, the price of the breakfast specials were raised from $7.49 to $7.99 from the last owner and now from $7.99 ( see https://maps.app.goo.gl/jJGp2BdENR9Twdub8 ) to $8.99 by the new owner.
The service is always great. You'll never go wrong here. Wait staff are so incredibly friendly and you're always treated like family here. Just ask for whatever it is that you need.
*Upon walking into the restaurant (or leaving), you'll notice two handmade signs directed towards staff in plain view of everyone. Why? It does not give friendly atmospheric vibes, but rather micromanaging hell. Staff can't have drinks out? In...
