My family and I have been visiting Bobby's Frozen Custard, Inc. for years, and in the past they always served a consistently, high quality product. At one time, you could order a concrete and be relatively confident that you would get an ample amount of toppings and that they would be thoroughly mixed throughout the product. At one time, they had staff that was dedicated to accurately fulfilling orders. That is no longer the case. They have raised prices significantly since they were bought out by Andy's Frozen custard. Prices have increased everywhere, so I do not mind paying higher prices, but I expect for my order to be accurate and have the correct amount of toppings or fillings. Over the last two months, we have noticed a dramatic decrease in order accuracy and quality. On one occasion we ordered two large concretes and we got home and found out that they had given us a large and a medium concrete. The concretes have consistently been underfilled with product and not mixed thoroughly. Typically, the concretes appear as though they are between 60% to 70% vanilla custard with a small amount of mix in. The last two times I have visited and ordered a large vanilla custard, I received approximately the amount of a medium size custard or less, in a large cup. Today, when I visited, I once again ordered a large custard in a cup. This time I was charged $6.85 for a large concrete instead of $3.75 for a large cup of custard. There is literally an issue every single time we have gone there. I called the store today and they were able to look up my order and confirm that I was overcharged. They did not offer to refund my money. The man who answered the phone said, "Well unfortunately since you paid with cash there is nothing we can do. Have a nice day." He did say that he would let the girl who prepared my order know that she made a mistake. This business absolutely does not care about customer service or satisfaction. It is obvious that employees are not being trained to deliver a consistent product to the customer. We spend $25 to $30 every time we go here and at this point, I can go to Dairy Queen and purchase a blizzard for less money and get a much better quality product than what is served at this establishment. If you value your hard earned money, go elsewhere for your custard/ice cream, sundaes, concretes, etc. This place is nothing but a joke. Oh and you cannot use the excuse that they were busy and trying to fulfill several orders, etc. When I visited today I was the only person there. They had plenty of time to prepare my order accurately. If you are going to charge for a premium product then you better deliver a premium product. I have a slogan that would be quite fitting to put on your new style cups that you just announced, "Bobbys: Shunning Excellence and Embracing Mediocrity." This place reeks...
Read moreSO GOOD! Not only the custard but the service and the quality of care was AMAZING. The business really adapted to these #COVID19 times, with CREDIT CARD ONLY which you swiped from the outside so there would be less contact. They also had ropes and signs so people can know to stay 6 feet apart. They have SO MANY toppings and flavors and combinations and even take home things like pints and ice cream sandwiches and chocolate covered bananas. I plan to go back for more even though I don't even live close to St Louis! My order: I got a small original and made it 50/50, which is half vanilla and half chocolate, with marshmallow topping. I love chocolate everything and this chocolate flavor was SO GOOD, and that's coming from someone who has had a lot of chocolate treats in many places and different countries. The marshmallow topping is a GAME CHANGER for my LIFE and I now want it on EVERYTHING. The vanilla was just kind of plain, which is maybe how it should be. It wasn't my favorite, so I just mixed it with the rest and it was great. It was quite sweet but that's how I like it. Very creamy and rich, especially with the...
Read moreFirst time using the drive thru this evening. There was a long line and a staff member was taking orders in the lanes. I was directed to move my car to the outer lane however the staff member didn’t return to take my order. No big deal, accidents happen.
I placed my order at the window with another staff member who spoke to me so quickly it was hard to get a clear confirmation that she heard my order. She was involved in personal conversations so I double checked that she heard my order. She confirmed, ran my card, then told me my total which I was surprised was over $10. I ordered key lime concrete which I now understand was the “flavor of the week” and is more expensive.
My concrete was very disappointing. There was more whip cream on top than there was key lime in the concrete. I paid $10 for a large cup of custard with a spoonful of key lime on top, it wasn’t even mixed in.
My family and I have been coming to Bobby’s since I was a kid. However the service and quality have gone down since new owners took over. I’m sad to say this will be my last time...
