First time visitor, who went here on the recommendation of a friend. A group of 8, we were seated immediately upon arrival. The wait staff was friendly and efficient, and got our drinks and orders in very quickly. Then the waiting began. All of our orders came out at the same, which is preferable for groups dining together, so maybe the fried chicken was the culprit, but 15 or so minutes for a sparsely crowded restaurant seemed rather long. The food was hot and tasty, but for a Reuben, something didn't seem quite right. The marbled rye got my hopes up, but the interior left something to be desired. Instead of slices of corned beef brisket, the meat looked more like the Philly cheese steak my wife had, and tasted similar as well. The meat was chopped up fine, with a little bit of sauerkraut and Thousand Island to top it off. If there was any Swiss on it, I couldn't detect any. While the top slice was toasty and crisp, the bottom was like a wet sponge. Flipping it over helped prevent it from falling apart in my hands. My side was a baked potato, which was very good, although it's kind of hard to mess one of those up. My wife's Philly was very greasy, with not enough onions and peppers, along with an overly dry wrap. Her sweet potato fries were not too crisp either; more towards the soggy side. Our friend's fried chicken looked delicious, and the platter of chicken livers was quite bountiful! So much so, he had to get a takeaway box. This eating establishment is so far out of my way, I doubt that I'll ever return, but those livers did look inviting! Reasonably priced, a large variety menu, with a very friendly wait staff, I'm sure this place is a favorite among locals. Just not on my radar for a...
Read moreOverview- I have been going to Boogie’s for over 6+ years and for 4 years I went once a week. I think that this sports bar has great chicken wings, but sadly lacks in all other places.
Food- When going to a sport’s bar the expectation for food is usually lower. But when eating a Boogie’s, I did not feel this was up to par. Most dishes coming out are burnt, extremely overcooked, or greasy. The ranch however is fantastic with a THICK consistency and BOLD flavor. Being paired with the chicken wings, the meal would be good. The chicken wings are large and fantastic! I do feel that the prices are somewhat high, but for the chicken wings it is worth it. The walleye is great as well! I would give the food at Boogie’s a 2/5.
Atmosphere- The atmosphere at Boogie’s is sadly a wreck. Starting with the bathrooms, the men’s is never clean and always is disarray. The service is lacking as well. With an average dinner taking over 55 minutes just to get your food and the food coming out burnt 7/10 times, is not acceptable. The dining room itself is always dirty and is crammed with chairs. As far as atmosphere I would give...
Read moreI am so disappointed in Boogies and will never be going back again. We have been coming there for years, there have been some hiccups with our orders to go or it taking a bit of time for our food to come out, but tonight was the icing on the cake. My son and I got there at 6pm, waited 15 mins to have a server come to us. Which fine, no big deal, she gets our full order when she asks for our drinks. My son ordered a steak, fries and broccoli and I order a salad, the cod, and bake potatoes. I get my salad at 6:25 and we are not approached again until 7pm, when she tells us that they do not have steak. She states that she asked the cooks multiple times where our food was as I noticed other tables who got there after us were all eating their dinner. I told her that we were upset and not waiting anymore, she didn’t charge us for our drinks or salad. If I was there with other adults I wouldn’t have even cared but the fact that my 9 year old was starving and to let us know so much later was absolutely ridiculous. Please do better for your waitresses who have to deal with the repercussions of...
