Pukalani Club House Restaurant & Bakery — Restaurant in Maui

this is, hands down, the best food i had on maui. the chef marries hawaiian, asian, and comfort foods harmoniously, without being gimmicky or overpowering. the restaurant also serves a ton of classics like burgers, sandwiches, and fish, and you can taste the care and skill that goes into each dish.

i highly recommend trying whatever the off-menu special is, if you're lucky enough to visit on a night the chef is offering. i didn't get to snap a picture of the prime rib (friday night special) but it's the best prime rib i've ever had (island, mainland, or otherwise). the duck breast was incredible, i can't even explain - you'd just have to try it. oh, and the brunch set? the perfect eggs benedict served with tons of other delicious meats, eggs, pancakes, fried rice, and corned beef hash patty! my partner and i wanted to eat more because it was so good, but we were stuffed and had plenty left over to take home. such an amazing deal!

don't be fooled by the modest, laidback building because the food is truly remarkable. wait staff was friendly, efficient, and very welcoming and do a good job following regulations regarding covid-19. i'll be coming back to maui just to eat here...

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Waited almost 10 minutes before we were greeted. Busy outdoor patio seating with views of the golf course. I got the Cajun Crispy Chicken Sandwich and my brother got the Hangover Burger Melt. My brother said the burger was really good, and it was HUGE. My chicken sandwich on the other hand, was horrible. The chicken was seasoned well, but tasted like the cook either forgot about it in the fryer or it was refried from an earlier time. It was tough and dry, and had two weird thigh cuts on the bun, so it was impossible to even keep together. I had two bites and decided to just eat my fries. The server was really nice and asked if everything was okay, as she could tell I wasn’t enjoying my food. I should have sent it back, but honestly, if you send out food that bad, I don’t have a lot of trust that it would get much better. When we finished, the server cleared our plates, and when she brought the check, she was sure to point out a discount for the sandwich I didn’t eat. $4 discount on a $16 sandwich. We paid and left…...

I’ve had hamburger steak plates in countless restaurants & food trucks across Hawaii (born & raised here) and the hamburger steak here was horrible. My first bite tasted like pure fat. It tasted nothing like beef. It was thoroughly cooked, but as I cut into both patties, the texture was not normal & was really “loose”. I’m guessing there’s some type of “filler” being used in the beef to stretch a dollar. The server offered to bring something else but I declined as the rest of my party would have to wait too.
