My wife and I moved to Kutztown a few weeks ago. Tonight, we found ourselves with a free night (thanks Pop and Nonna!). We decided to stop in and try Saucony Creek as it has been years since we’ve been in (stopped in when they first launched years ago). Glad we did.
We already ate dinner, so we were there solely for the beer. The establishment is quaint and very nice. Even the bathrooms were well done and exceptionally clean (thank you!). The design and decor was unique and appealing. Bar area obviously (with multiple televisions) and plenty of different height/accommodating tables to choose from. The outdoor area with included play area for children was a pleasant surprise.
Anna waited on us and she was very pleasant and attentive. We even had another male employee, manager, or possibly owner come chat with us when he saw we were sitting with just our waters (Anna was going to get our order). The teamwork and emphasis on good service was appreciated.
The beers were very good, not all my taste personally, but some real gems in the bunch. Unicorns Stomping Lanternflies was my personal favorite. I appreciated the variety offered and the presentation of the flights. Some of the beer names were fun too, so that was neat.
Prices were reasonable and we had a great evening. Glad we stopped in and will certainly do so again. Will have to try the food next...
Read moreAlways a great experience, and always great beers! Got to try a flight, and could choose only a few if I wasn't feeling like getting five beers all to myself. My favorite was a Gose that was flavored with plum, as I'm more on the fruity and lighter end of the beer spectrum, yet there were plenty of IPAs and more dark, bitter, or hoppy beers for those on the other end of the spectrum. Maybe my Dad could finally find an IPA hoppy enough to impress him here! We'll have to come back again to see. The food was also very impressive. Brought my mother out for lunch and she had a fantastic salad with shrimp, blood orange (or maybe grapefruit?), feta, and avocado. I had a bacon crab quesadilla that was not only filling, but a wonderful combination of flavors. To round it all out, the staff are personable, friendly, and courteous. They made for a great experience, made sure we were taken care of, and I especially appreciate that they made my mother feel welcome and comfortable. It's a memory I'll have forever, and it was thanks to the hospitality of those working. Thanks again, can't wait to come...
Read moreStumbled upon this gem on the way home from Allentown. Not sure why everyone didn’t give it 5 stars… let’s just say they are WRONG! Our waiter Alex was phenomenal! It’s so refreshing to have someone who knows the menu and can give you an honest opinion. He recommended the French dip, which is something my boyfriend never would have ordered, and he was drooling with every bite! We had an espresso stout and a vanilla chocolate milk stout and if you like stouts they were delicious!!! (We aren’t IPA fans so can’t review that part.) We also had the cauliflower fries with Thai chili dip… so good. They had some really unique options on the menu. Things you wouldn’t (or couldn’t ) make at home but also classics that anyone would enjoy. The “Among Us” burger is their gluten free vegan option, which is usually typical, but they chose to step up the toppings which really made it exceptional! Side option are fries and chips and we tried both options and they chose wisely! Both are worth trying. Can’t wait to come back through this way! Who am I kidding? We will make a detour...
