Was very hungry. Heard good things about the place, and decided to go. We left very disappointed and still hungry. I ordered a Nocturno sandwich, and my father ordered the Nachos De Pechuga. We don't speak Spanish very well it was difficult ordering, and they did not accept debit or credit at that time. My father got his order first, and we waited a while for my sandwich to come. I took a look at what he got, and I was surprised to see such a small protion of nachos for 10$. It was just chips with a little bit of shredded chicken sprinkled on top. The cheese and condiments came in separate smaller containers to pour on top. While the portion was small, the quality seemed tolerable. I wish I could say the same for my sandwich. It came wrapped in aluminum, which is typically no problem for me. However, it was cut in half while still in the aluminum. Leaving small shreds of foil on the cut end of my sandwich. After picking the foil out and holding the unwrapped sandwich in my hands, I felt depressed holding this sogy thing. But I was very hungry and regretted biting into it almost as soon as I did. The "steak" or meat was pretty unrecognizable. It had a grainy texture, and the sauce just seemed almost sour to me. I probably could have eaten the whole thing if it wasn't for the soggy bread. I hate wasting food, but I had to throw the other half away. I would have preferred to just lose 20$ or have it stolen than go through an experience like that again. I wish I could forget this experience. But I'll settle for...
Read moreUnassuming place to grab a quick snack or sample typical Puerto Rican food. Great option when you're on the road between Mayagüez and Aguadilla. The Surtidos are a great, inexpensive way to sample Puerto Rican frituras! The large one can feed about 6 hungry people. Don't be misled when you see the pizza box! Once you open it you'll see. Keep in mind that this is not a deluxe, fancy place (it's a food truck with a covered parking and some picnic tables). But it's definitely worth it for the quality of the food: mofongo, carne frita, chicharrones de pollo, arañitas, cream of plantain soup, chicken wings, and other local fare. It's very popular among college students (I learned of it through my son, a college student). It's also a very clean place, and has a small but...
Read moreGreat location, very clean and plenty of tables. Food was great as in the others. Debit/credit accepted. Plenty of parking, at least when I went, I am sure this place gets swamped at lunch hours. Restroom available, very clean and an interesting garden with the Puerto Rico flag painted on a nice setting for visitors. I liked that they harvest rain water something I haven't seen in any other business similar to this one. A great stop while traveling on number 2, careful exiting and merging back into...
