Ricomini Factory & Bakery — Restaurant in Mayagüez

This is the store close to the beach at Mayaguez. We go there at lunch time. There you can find baked thing, grocery, breasfast, lunch. They have tables inside, parking place, access for wheelchair... Their flute bread is very good , also the boricua and the sobao bread. You should taste them and select your favorite. Mine is the boricua one.

But my favorite Ricomini Bakery is the one in the town at a side of the Plaza and Catholic Church. Here you can find the best Mallorcas, you have to ask for them. They really taste as the ensaimadas I have taste at Mallorca Island.

Found this place by accident in Mayaguez, PR and so glad we did! They have an amazing selection of wonderful baked treats, so many that it was hard to choose, and the prices were crazy good! We had two baked treats and an electrolyte drink and the total was $7.19. Back home the treats alone would be at least $4 each and the drink probably $3, so $11 plus tax. And the employees were super helpful and friendly, patiently explaining what everything was and giving us recommendations while we tried to decide what to get. He sido cliente por años y siempre tuve a este lugar en un pedestal, pero después de hoy JAMÁS volveré.

Pedimos 4 sándwiches: 2 de pastrami y 2 de jamón y queso. Uno de cada uno era en pan flauta. Desde que llegamos, el servicio fue el mismo de siempre: lento, apático y con cero entusiasmo por atender. Pero esta vez, fue PEOR.

Nos brincaron en la fila múltiples veces. Tuve que pararme y preguntar si ya mi orden estaba lista y, en vez de ayudar, los empleados se molestaron conmigo como si estuviera haciendo algo mal. Después de casi 30 minutos más de espera, había tres sándwiches fríos esperando solo por el de pan flauta con pastrami... el cual misteriosamente seguían evitando hacer.

Volví al counter y otra vez me recibieron con malas caras. Fui testigo de cómo abrieron los sándwiches, metieron carne en pan ya frío y mongo, y encima dividieron el pastrami de un solo sándwich entre los dos que pedimos. ¿Cómo lo sé? Porque uno de los panes tenía mantequilla y el otro mayonesa… pero ambos tenían pastrami embarrado de mayonesa. ¡Un desastre!

Por si fuera poco, los pedimos "con todo" y vinieron vacíos. Sin vegetales. Sin nada. Solo pan frío con carne tirada encima. Y mientras todo esto pasaba, podía ver claramente a la sandwichera haciendo caras, molesta, sin una pizca de profesionalismo.

Y como si no fuera suficiente, ni el café pudieron hacer bien. Les dije como cuatro veces que era un doble espresso con un sobre de azúcar morena, y ni eso pudieron anotar bien. Estaban tan distraídos hablando entre ellos que terminé diciéndoles que no quería azúcar de la frustración.

En total esperamos una hora por 4 sándwiches mal hechos y un café. Nos trataron pésimo, nos brincaron y encima se vengaron con la orden como si fuera nuestra culpa un problema logístico de panadería.

Ricomini se ha dejado caer completamente. Qué vergüenza ver en lo que se ha convertido un sitio que antes recomendaba con orgullo. JAMÁS volveré, y ojalá esta reseña le abra los ojos a...
