Plaza Platos y Copas — Restaurant in Mayagüez

1st time here, aesthetically beautiful as it is located right in front of the beach. The outdoor patio dining is gorgeous for eating, socializing and taking pictures. The staff were kind and always checking in. Shoutout to our waiter Albert!! 🙏🏼 Such a light spirit and good energy. Very assistive and competent with the menu and recommendations. He was a pleasure to service us. I may say, the food wait time was around 35-45 mins. Our drinks no longer than 10 mins (piña colada w alcohol) The meal order was pechuga and arroz con habichuelas y maduros. Now, please be mindful as they don’t call it maduros, it’s referred to as “platano armaillo “. (Just for my other Spanish speaking people out there) In addition, the food portions were fair. If you’re looking for a MEAL, don’t expect a lot of food coming out your way. The rice and beans were of a liking, would be better w more flavor. The meat had only flavors from the charr off the grill & peppers and onions on top. Overall, meat wasn’t as seasoned as anticipated. Maduros were acceptable :)

The place is very nice, looks great from the road. Live music and good drinks. But this was the worst experience me and my friends had on our entire vacation in Puerto Rico! We were a party of 7, they didn't bring out our food out at the same time and they kept getting our orders wrong. The Brisket was horrible and so was the churrasco they didn't want to take it back or take it off our check. The food took forever and my friend never even got his order! Even after the server had repeated the order. When the manager came over he said my friend never ordered that. And he wouldn't even take the bad food off our check! Our bill was over $500 with drinks and tip and he didn't even give us a discount for all the screw ups or a $30 discount for the bad dish. He was so rude to us! The business has a lot of potential to give more, but the service of the waiters and manager is not the best service, to request a service on some occasions you have to go to the bar to ask because the waiters are not 100% aware of the same. And the manager remains seated at a table enjoying himself as if he were not working, with some partners or friends to smoke and drink his favorite drink or something similar and is not sufficiently attentive to the employees, nor does he follow up on the tables that are unattended.
