Steve & Irene's — Restaurant in Mayfield

Pretty sad to say I rate this place so lowly as of late. I would frequently get their italian hoagie and spread it out over a few days of the week, but now I can't even say it's worth half the price it's listed as with the portions I got on the one I ordered.

After getting home with my whole italian hoagie, I cut it into four portions as I always do, and immediately take one piece to start eating, and notice it's pretty light on everything. About four slices of cheese, less than three slices of tomato, and less than a quarter cup of shredded lettuce for a two foot hoagie. And despite asking for extra onions, there were almost none on it. The meat was pretty light too, but that could've easily been offset had there been vegetables on it. Also questionable is why they tightly wrap the cheese and meat and put it in the center of the hoagie, instead of having layers.

It always hurts to see quality dip like this, hopefully this place can go back to being considered one of the best hoagies of the area, because right now a fast food sandwich shop is better in my opinion (as far as italian hoagies go, I honestly can't speak for much else on...

Have been coming here for years, not sure what's going on, but the quality and portions are no where near as good as it used to be. Last time I ordered from here was a few months ago and it wasn't the greatest then, figured they were having an off day so I gave it another shot today. Young girl answered the phone and took my order, I had to repeat it several times and then asked her to confirm..which she did but the food wasn't as ordered when I picked it up. Full Italian hoagie $19.95 had one slice each of ham, cheese and salami and the rest was mostly lettuce with hardly any tomatoes. I could've taken the lunch meat from the entire hoagie and put it on one half and it still wouldn't be the same as they used to be. Side of fries $4.95 were so salty I had to toss them in the garbage, completely unedible. Half steak and cheese hoagie $10.95 had hardly any steak or cheese. The meat was about 3 inches from each side of the bun. Total bill $38 that included a $2 tip. If you like a lettuce hoagie then you'll love it here, sorry to say I will...

I’ve given this place so many opportunities and just cannot find anything positive about to say about them. There’s always something wrong with my order and the food is always HORRIBLY messy. I ordered a cheesesteak once with buffalo sauce and when I opened it I thought it was the wrong order because the buffalo looked, tasted, and smelled like chili sauce. Weird? Didn’t get that again. Ordered a buffalo wrap another time and it was ALL OVER the wrapping, completely saturated and dripping everywhere. I literally could not eat it that’s how pathetic it was. On the few occasions I decided to give them another go, I find that I just do not like their bread for the subs. It’s so dense and the meat to bread ratio is sad. Hardly any meat in comparison. Hard to understand the hype. You can get a much better sub right down the road at Mayfield Sub Shop or Dante’s Deli in my opinion for...
