Dinner was great here tonight!! You want great flavored Mexican food & excellent service, eat here asap! Even though they were extremely busy, the service was 100% on point & we weren't waiting around at all. Excellent staff here tonight. I had steak fajitas with rice & beans, plus an extra side of rice. My man had a cheese enchilada with rice & beans. These were the best steak fajitas I've ever eaten and I've eaten them at so many places. There was so much wonderful & delicious flavors in these fajitas.. steak, onions, green & red peppers, fresh mushrooms, and yellow squash..omg.. and whatever the added seasonings were, were so perfect, too! I then asked for some picante salsa & habañero sauce to top off my fajitas cuz I like em extra spicy. Without the added salsa/sauce though, the flavors of the fajita mix were outstandingly delicious by itself. Bravo to the cooks here! I can't express that enough. Flavor upon flavor. I was given an ample plate of side items to add to my fajitas, too (it comes as part of ordering the fajitas)... lettuce shreds, Pico de Gallo, sour cream, and Guacamole/mashed avocado. All super fresh and tasty. The rice and beans were delicious, too. Rice was fluffy & separated, with just the right amount of moisture..yummm. My apologies for state of the food in the pics, but I was so excited to eat, I started eating before taking the pictures..lol My man said the cheese enchilada was good and he commented that the red sauce had just a little mild spice & good flavor to it. Much better than that bland or flavorless red sauce you'll tend get at most places. Again.. thanks to the cooks who season everything made here just right!! At the end of the meal, I complimented the cook myself instead of asking the waitress to do it. So if you want great Mexican food with lots of flavor, check this place out. I will just make a side note that this place is small, so it can be quite loud at times, but don't let that deter you, cuz the food & service is well worth it. You can save your conversation for after...
Read moreThis was my first time visiting the establishment with some friends from the area. The restaurant wasnt busy because of the weather- we got seated right away. When our waitress, Veronica, came to take our drink order, she definitely had an attitude. I asked for a lemonade and she said "no" flat out not joking, which caught my friends attention. She never offered additional refills for us ladies, but was quick to take care of my friends boyfriend. She spent more time standing around socializing then actually doing her job. We ordered our food and four minutes later; our food was delivered ( yes, it was hot & delicious) but im okay with waiting longer then four minutes to receive my food. The chips and salsa were good and the rest of the staff was friendly and made us feel welcome since my friends are regulars. Veronica was very quick to rush us considering it was dead and that was extremely off-putting as well. During check-out , I asked if she could break a $20 and she said "we'll see" idk what her problem was with my friend and I but she needs a reality check and remember that giving customers dirty looks and glaring isnt professional nor is giving attitude and sarcastic comments. This experience did not make me feel welcome but i would go back as long as she isnt my server. I do not recommend having her as a server (avoid...
Read moreThe adventures continue with my dad and I eating our way around the state of Wisconsin. Today he took me to an absolute gem Don Ramon's. A quaint little place in the booming metropolis of Mayville. My dad had been talking about this place for weeks and we finally decided to go. A very nice menu with several items NOT found at other similar restaurants. Salsa and chips were very tasty with the chips being on the thicker side and the salsa having just the right amount of spice. Do not miss the fresh, made at your table to order guacamole. WOW was this awesome!!! Dad couldn't get enough. We both ordered street tacos. He had the steak and chorizo and I had the carnitas. I absolutely love carnitas and have become a connesuir of sorts. Three stuffed corn tortillas in this nice stainless steel holder. Just cilantro and onion with both a hot sauce and a salsa Verde. Beans and rice were fantastic! This place was packed in a Sunday afternoon and now I know why. Don Ramon's is off the beaten path but I HIGHLY recommend stopping by for the great food and...
