The Open Door Coffeehouse — Restaurant in Mayville

It was my first time there yesterday - Sunday , October 27 , 2019 with a friend. It was very good and I ordered the Dirty Chai Latte and a Cinnamon Biscotti , which was awesome and sweet enough and the flavor was spicy and rich , like at a high quality place serves coffee. There is a great menu full of awesome yummy foods with warm and cold beverages. This place is awesome with an older flair and cozy shabby chic decor. Very welcoming and friendly service. There are plenty of places to sit and enjoy yourself. There is also a nice looking fire place with seating around the fire place in the front room as you walk into the coffee shoppe. They also sell t-shirts , keychains , books , and other items. I see that there are also some community events held there by some of the pictures posted on the wall by a nice table where you can get a napkin , sugar , creamer and stir stick for your coffee. Placed an order for pick up at 7:50AM, I called at 7:13AM to confirm and let them know I’ll be arriving for pick up at 7:50. They even thanked me for calling saying that really helps them so they could plan it out. I called ahead of time because I had places to be at 8:05. When I arrived, the barista said she hadn’t even started on my order yet and that it would “probably be another 15min”. Although she apologized it STILL ruined my plans for the morning. I said I would return but I didn’t know when and I would call back. After about 20 min I tried calling 6 times but they had turned their phones off. I didn’t get a chance to stop back in until 9:09. When I came back, they apologized again but didn’t even offer to remake my order. I had to ask them to remake my coffee and they reheated my breakfast burrito in the microwave…. Last night was Mayville's Christmas activities and parade. 30° is cold enough that many people want to go to our trendy little cafe on Main Street and warm up with a cup of coffee and hot chocolate. When we got there, there were about 10 people waiting for their coffees..as I stood at the counter for about 5 minutes with no "Hello" or "I'll be with you in a minute" no greeting at all, while one barista was slaving away making the coffees and the other was standing behind the counter texting away on her phone. She had time to go get herself a glass of water and then went right back to playing on her phone without a word to us. We just ended up leaving without a thing while all 10 people were still waiting for their drinks....
