Bricks Restaurant & Sports Bar — Restaurant in Maywood

Last night, my Fiancés tools were stolen from the back of his truck while it was parked across from the bar/ Restaurant where everyone was parking and what is considered “FREE PARKING”. These were essential tools for his work, and their loss has set him back significantly, both financially and professionally. Despite taking precautions, such as locking and securing, the thieves still managed to get in. I’m sharing this as a warning to others: if you're parking your vehicle while attending their events or leaving anything in the back of your truck or perhaps in your vehicle in general, take every possible step to secure them—or, if you can, take them out entirely. I’m shocked this kind of event doesn’t have a guard looking out for any suspicious activity especially when it involves people attending their events. If anyone in the area saw anything or comes across tools being sold suspiciously, please reach out. It’s incredibly frustrating to be targeted like this, and I hope our experience helps others...

I wasn't going to say anything about the place saying it's open when it's not. Then saying they'll be there at 5 and arriving closer to 6 for an event. Or them advertising they have food, when they don't. Or the place not being clean and well taken care of. Or even the one restroom upstairs having terrible lighting and no paper. But, the icing on the cake was the awful, arrogant security guard. He feels he can be authoritarian, when in fact, the organizers and the place don't communicate amongst all of them to know what to expect. I went there on a Sat. Night to see a punk rock show. Show was upstairs. Dancing to 80's/goth/punk music downstairs which looked pretty popular! Stage was big. Sound was pretty good. Nice lighting. Reasonable bar prices with plenty of domestic + import beer prices + typical liquor choices. Cool security dude. My only complaint is that on warm nights, the upstairs can get pretty warm. Don't know if they're too cheap to turn on A/C or if it was just inadequate. Located in a low-key industrial area which is cool so street parking was easy enough to find.
