La Casita De Las Sopas De Doña Mague — Restaurant in McAllen

I was in town for a delivery and while waiting to pick up my next load, I visited this restaurant. Words can't express how amazing and delicious the food was.

When I came in, I was greeted warmly and gazed upon their offerings. It all looked great and if I had three or four stomachs, I would have tried them all! 🤣

But alas, I settled on a stewed beef taco (pictured below) and a chicken fajita plate that I devoured too quickly for photos. Along with rice & beans, they offered a mix of flour and corn tortillas. These were FRESH and soft and absolute perfection. Everything seems like it's made daily and not like other places that get their tortillas in a bag from a box that sat in a warehouse for a month. They also offer Jamaica, not the country, a hibiscus drink that if you haven't tried you definitely should. So good, and good for you.

I loved it. The only sadness was not being able to try their shell pasta soup because they were out. I'm sure they were because it looks amazing in all the photos I saw of it.

When I'm in McAllen, I'll definitely return to try...

This was the best place I have eaten on my vacation!!! Yall have to try this spot out . Promise you will not be disappointed. EVERYTHING was so good. The sopa , the menudo, the guisado plate. My son loved his huevos con chorizo too! Omg and the guacamole was 💣. The gorditas were just as good. The tortillas were home made. This is for sure our favorite spot so far! The ladies were very nice and polite and had wonderful customer service. I never leave reviews ..but In this case I HAD to. They shall not go unnoticed! Stop in!!! I recently had the best Mexican soul food I've ever tasted in McAllen! It's truly a hidden gem. I can't believe how delicious it is—homemade with so much flavor, and the service was excellent. It's now my favorite place. I ordered the Enchiladas Mexicanas and adding the meat for just $2.50 was the best decision I made. The restaurant is really clean and the food is fantastic.
