This place was such a disappointment. I went on a Friday night with my parents and my boyfriend. My dad stumbled upon it on social media and wanted to try it out. We took a seat outside at a picnic table. It was pretty packed when we got there and the other tables were all taken. There was also live music.
We all ordered beers, then eventually ordered an order of two pretzels. The pretzels and beer were good. We then ordered food. Each one of us ordered a plate. We also ordered a coke and a water.
We see our waitress coming in and out, tending to other tables, and see every table around us get their food but we never did. My boyfriend also never got his Coke and my mom never got her water. This was about 40 minutes after placing the order. We flag our waitress down and she says, “oh the Coke and the water!” since she realized she never brought it out. We told her yes but we also asked for the food. She told us at that time that the food will be right out. Another 20 minutes goes by and still no coke, water, or food.
My dad got very frustrated by this point and decided he just wanted to leave. He approached another waitress and asked to pay. We all go inside and explain that we never received the food but are wanting to pay for the drinks and the pretzels. The lady helping us asked about the coke and we told her we never received it either. She then tells us that she sees the ticket was just put in about 20 minutes ago and the food is almost out. We tell her no, we have been waiting for an hour for the food and never got it. She apologized, removed the food and coke, and after paying we left.
It sounds like our waitress forgot to put our order in and then put it in when we reminded her about it. More than one person helped us while we were inside at the registers and they called our waitress over multiple times but she refused to go over. She knew she messed up. Such a shame because I’m sure the food is good, but not worth waiting over an hour for and being forgotten...
Read moreVery nice hidden restaurant, food is good different but good. Nice beer, you have to try it. They have light and dark so your choice. Hubby ordered the German their style Tacos they were amazing great taste really recomend them, I ordered Jagger schnitzel it's like a steak fried steak but it is pork loin very good lightly crispy battered and very good mushroom white gravy like sauce it was good will recomend that. I was not a fan of the fried pan potatoes with onion they were a bit to charred the onion and very little potatoes but will try something else next time, ordered it with spatzel. I was definitely not a fan of that the texture was not my liking, but could be yours it is not spaghetti but it looks it the texture is more of a thick doey kinda like it. As when you make spaghetti and you iver cook it, it's something like that but that is the way it is made ai personally didn't like it. Maybe you will then again I've never tried German food this is my 1st time. Yet dont want to bash on something I'm not to familiar with. The pretzel omg I loved it very good, soft, excellent amount if salt and came with cheese and a mustard which inreally enjoyed it. But I will go back and order other items on menu. It is good guys but it's up to your taste buds. Very nice ambient, the pit was nit lit because it was windy and well safety measures is understandable. Safety first yet very comfy, I liked the fly fans those were helpful keep flies away. Can't do nothing abt bugs oh well. The beer is tasty different yet good. I do recomend this hidden Gem restaurant give it a try. Staff was very nice and attentive. It was a good experience for...
Read moreThis was the Oktoberfest event that was hosted by Schneider’s not so long ago. I have to say first the food was not as amazing as I had remembered it being when I went here a couple of years ago or I had built it up in my mind.
The sausages or brat were really tasty but way too small for the price, I dont remember them being this size before. The pretzel was the same size as usual, but I really enjoyed that and the beer selection was good.
Classic german style beers made in Texas. I wanted to have my tried and true Alstadt Hefeweizen beer but apparently the machine wasn’t working so I got the next best thing, Alstadt Oktoberfest which was good and tastier with less hops than the 5x5 Oktoberfest.
The event was fun with community seating to be able to seat so many people because they were definitely lacking in seats as a medium sized venue there really wasn’t enough room for the turn out. I got to have conversations with some interesting characters. The way you ordered beer and food was not your normal way of ordering and it was really boring waiting in two lines for beer, one to purchase and the other to get the beer. Although that might have been the best way to deal with the crowds.
It was a good experience for the afternoon all around but wish I got more for my money food wise. I will come again though now that I learned they actually are still open at...
