Zinnia Park — Attraction in McAllen

I honestly don't go to parks that often, but me and some buddies decided to go here for a couple hours, and ended up staying for four! It was just so much fun, and there's so much to do! Granted, we all brought our own balls and frisbees, but they had the space and courts for everything we could have wanted. While we did play Volleyball, Basketball and Soccer, we spent the majority of our time playing catch with our frisbee. What I think was great about this park though, was that we were running around as far as little legs could take us, and we never once ran into the other groups of people doing their own thing on the field. My son's baseball team has practice at Zinnia Park. We have been at a specific side of the park for three practices. But the past three have been on the east side of the park. It seems that someone at one point drove through the middle of the field and left tire marks on the ground. Probably a park employee, and while the ground was wet after a rainy day, but the grass has already grown on it. The problem is that our children practice there, and while running, have seen a couple of the players trip and fall over the deep tire marks, and even get hit in the face with the baseball, after a grounder rolled through that uneven tire mark area and bounce up at the player. Great community park. My nieces and nephews love the water park. I been to birthday parties here too. The scenery when you take a stroll around the park is lovely. They have different trees and small hills. My son and I have flown kites here. At first I didn't understand the monkey bars. They looked different to me. But my nieces love this park for them. The restroom are close to the playground and cover area which is good. You can see them right away. Oh. People also walked their pets there too. There is also a basketball court, volleyball and baseball field too. Lots of open space to practice soccer too....
