I have ordered multiple times since my first review below and each time has been worse than the last. 12/27/21 will be the last time I'll order from here, each pizza has gotten exceedingly sloppy and the toppings are scarce. I ordered 3 different pizzas, a veg, a pepperoni and a sausage mushroom, all three were disappointing. The veg was ridiculous, I bet there were 5 mushrooms on the whole pizza and it just got worse. What a shame but this is the 5th time the pizza has been awful. 😞
My name is Tammy and I am not a paid review. My office is located in Carnegie, on West Main Street, and just a few blocks down is Slice On Broadway. Many years ago our office tried the pizza there and WOW!!! So today while driving on Route 19 I noticed a sign saying "Slice On Broadway" and immediately called to find out if they were the same as the one in Carnegie, they were!!! Oh happy day!! I am picky about pizza and I have been living in the north hills for 15 years now and still do not have a favorite pizza place, I was raised in Bethel Park, so Mineo's is the standard. So tonight I ordered two pizzas and a Italian hoagie classic. The pizza was exactly like it was in Carnegie, so Perfect!! The Italian hoagie was excellent, although I will get the dressing on the side, just because I don't like the normal amount of dressing. The pizza crust is perfect, light and crusty. The sauce is tasty, not too sweet or salty. The only thing I thought could be improved is the amount of veg they put on the pizza. I ordered NY style thin crust with mushrooms, ricotta, red onion and banana peppers, the amount of banana peppers was perfect for me, but the mushrooms, ricotta and red onions were a little sparse, but nothing that can't be fixed with a suggestion! The quality of the veg, pepperoni, and sausage was excellent. I am so happy that FINALLY the north hills has an exceptional pizza place!! Now the only problem I have is that with them being 5 minutes from work and 10 minutes from home, I may gain 10 pounds or more, time for more exercise!! If you have never tried them you totally should, well at least I think so, as does my entire office. I did notice that the slices were not very uniform but who cares it doesn't...
Read moreLast night I ordered food. It said 50-55 minutes it would be ready. I sent my wife to go grab it. She said when pulling into the lot it was packed….. well for those that don’t know these guys ( maybe not them exactly but the business) has just won best cheese pizza award… So she never expected to walk in and see wall to wall filled people inside of here. There was a lot of confusion she said however the staff although definitely overwhelmed stayed focused and kept their cool still be extremely respectful to customers. My wife added there was so many people asking for a refund which the man behind the counter gave no questions asked. All I have to say is this to all those angry customers… think about how many pizzas an oven can hold now think of all the people ordering online, in stores, door dash, and over the phone. If you are walking in and there are 30 people infront of you ordering make that probably 60 for the other orders coming through. Pizza doesn’t magically cook it will take 15-18 minutes per pizza you are going to be waiting…. Don’t get mad at the staff for trying and doing their best. Thank you guys for your delicious food although a little under cooked pizza it was still amazing. And you guys will definitely get me back as a customer. I hope last night 4-4-25 didn’t make you guys defeated. You are all hard workers so thank you. And don’t let the entitled people...
Read moreOverall, they are worth a visit. Generally the food was good, though I had some things that left me dissatisfied. Let's talk about hoagies first. If you like soft Mancini's bread, you're not going to be happy with the bread here. It's harder bread almost like a baguette. The sandwich is smaller than what you'll typically find around Pittsburgh. It's really more of a french sandwich than a hoagie. You may like it better than what is typical. Just know that it's different. The box our pizza came in had sauce smeared on a corner. That just shows a lack of concern about running an orderly kitchen. I'm sure they must have plenty of towels they can use to at least wipe their hands off with. The pizza itself was cut poorly. We had some slices that were less than 2 inches at the crust while others were over 4 inches. So a monster slice next to a baby slice. It was very inconsistent. This doesn't effect the taste, but again, shows a lack of care. We will try them again. We just hope this is more about being a new location with inexperienced staff than anything else. We've seen this before with restraints that expand to new locations. Some fail from being disconnected from the founders vision. Others have become better than the original location. We hope to see...
