The service wasn't terrible, however the coffee tasted burned and only got one refill in a super tiny cup. The syrup looked moldy, with black dots all over the bottle ... was later told quite rudely by someone who wasn't our server that it was infused with vanilla beans. Cool concept, maybe tell your customers about that before they are grossed out by what looks like mold. Although the syrup was quite watery, it did complement the waffle well. I ordered a crab omlet, it was a bit burned, so I opened the omlet, no crab meat. Was then told that it was mixed inside the egg shell. Interesting. So now I have to eat a dark brown burned omlet shell to get the 10 bucks of crab meat. Not a problem, just wished it was explained in the menu or by the server before ordering, or that the taste of burned omlet didnt cover up the crab meat, which was the whole reason I ordered a crab omlet. The open kitchen concept is cool, except I watched our server on her telephone through the window (probably explains why only got one coffee refill) and another server who ran our food, eating in the back, licking her fingers, and not washing her hands. Also saw food handler not wearing gloves or a hat, which probably explains the hair in my multicolored potatoes, which again, seem like a cool concept, but it would have been nice if it was explained they have peppers and onions in them. Thankfully I was able to pick them out, and was able to spot the hair before I ate any more. We also ordered 3 sunny up eggs that were burned brown on the bottom, and an order of bacon that came out fried to a crisp, with all 3 pieces connected into a weird ball of over fried bacon strips. It was completely disappointing. No butter with the waffle. Overall, very interesting food concepts, however I think the workers need better trained in customer service, menu explanations, and cleanliness. If you offer something cool and different, make sure your customers know what they're ordering ... like crab mixed into omlet shell or potatoes with peppers and onions. Might try them again in...
Read moreWent here on a Sunday... Packed, good for them. So, told the wait would be 45 minutes for a table, but we could order food to go that would be ready in 15-20 minutes. Okay, so we order the offered takeout. Now, there's not much of a waiting area in the front, so we ended up standing outside in the cold for over 30 minutes. We saw people who came after us getting tables and we were still waiting for our food to go (which later was explained that they used the NoWait app). Finally, we got our food to-go and when we got home (which is only about 5 minutes), food was cold and looks like it was just thrown together. Tried to call the restaurant, but went to voicemail twice. So, I drove back up there to return the food. The manager explained to me that waffles don't travel well (why offer a to-go options when you know it will be a bad experience for the diner?). They offered to refund the money, but then had issues with the credit card machine, so I left with a promise that they would do it. Bad experience left a negative impression on us. Probably will not return. LPT, if you do go here, use the No Wait app (because walk-up's will be treated as second class) and don't order to-go.
UPDATE The owner of this location actually called me and offered his sincere apologies about the experience. He also extended the offer to come back and have a "more typical" experience. So, we found a Sunday and headed back (also using the NoWait app this time). It was still packed and bustling, so a bit loud. The folks with me expressed they loved the coffee. I went with the special of the week, sausage gravy & chicken waffle with egg. It was good. When the food was dropped off, the manager did notice and mentioned that the potatoes looked "oversalted". He asked to let him know if they were. They were. And so another order of potatoes was rushed over. Overall, it was a decent experience. I'd probably rate this about a 3.5, but I rounded up because it takes a lot to admit wrongs and be accountable. So I appreciated their honesty in...
Read moreWe were up early Saturday morning and decided to eat breakfast out for a change. GF waffles DF lattes are hard to find and this place had them on the menu and was close to us just in Wexford so we got there at 9.30am.
We were greeted straight away and sat down near the barista station. The place was half full already and the fragrance of waffles hits you straight away wafting from the open plan kitchen.
The menu is extensive and has many great options. The drinks menu is also big with many options for coffee, tea and alcoholic beverages.
The service here is friendly and fast, we felt very comfortable chatting with the friendly waitress and also with other Customers around us. Such a cool vibe early on a Saturday morning.
The food came out hot and the GF, DF and soy free waffle was a big hit with the wife. I ordered the BC breakfast which was seasoned perfectly. The scrambled eggs were cooked perfect, as was the bacon and loved the mushrooms and medley of potatoes was a nice change. The Italian bread was light and crispy. Oh, and I like good coffee, and this place had it, so drank 2 cups.
I recommend this place for a different take on your regular breakfast spot. Located on Perry Highway in Wexford, with great...
