***Update Aug 2024, more than a year since last post*** IMPROVED RATING from 3 to 4⭐️s. As a foodie who values authentic cuisines, it should BE CLEAR THAT cooking here, like the vast majority of similar eateries in America, is chinese-style. MOST 😡😡😡😡😡 are unhealthy, greasy, salty or overly sweet, or over fried As such, it is surprisingly pleasant 😎 😎😎😎 to actually find a chinese-style eatery deserving 4⭐️s. TO BE CLEAR, food here is NOT traditional / authentic to any of the regional cuisines of China. It’s an AMERICAN VERSION, which is dismal in the vast majority of eateries in America and the West. The chinese-style menu has changed and has improved over the course of year👏👏👏. There seems to be a more creative “chef speciality” section. 😊Palace Platter Appetizer (good for 2-3): a very good sampling of flavorful American starters. *** throw away that pesky crab rangoon, ask for egg roll instead, AND ask for hot chili oil to lift up flavors*** 😊 Seven Wonders (large serving good for 2): a surprisingly delightful medley of fried chicken fillet and fried shrimp served on top of sautéed beef, scallops and crunchy veggies. Flavorful without the grease. 😊 Pork Egg Roll: Surprisingly very flavorful by itself without the need of a dipping sauce. Pack filling, without the typical greasiness. 😊 Vegetable Delight: a lovely sauté of mixed crunchy vegetables, subtle flavors, silken sauce. 😊 Eggplant Dumplings (good for 2-3): probably the most creative listing. Chinese Eggplant stuffed with shrimps and scallops, lightly breaded and fried, served with tart-lightly sweet brown sauce… 👏👏 to my palate, there’s lively semblance of Shanghainese flavor. ASK for Jasmine Tea: cleanses the palace, stimulates gastric juices.🤩 Service is outstanding 👏👏👏. ++++++

New restaurant. Any reviews before August apply to the old restaurant called China Palace. The dumplings are fairly good. If you dont want grease, get the regular dumplings steamed. If you get them fried, you should ask that they use minimal oil otherwise it will be the usual greasy dumplings. The first set l tried were not to my liking. However the waitress who seated me recommended that the vegetable dumpling be fried. They were nicely done. The steamed dumplings that i had the 2nd time were to my liking, see photo. The chicken and tofu dishes were decent. The burbon chicken pieces were a bit large, if they reduced the size of the pieces by half, it would let the sauce flavor the chicken better. Maybe they were trying to keep it more tender by using larger chunks. It was a very ample serving. Fried rice certainly seemed better than average. Wonton soup also better than average. My wife thought orange chicken was a bit too bready. Havent tried their orher stuff.

We ate at the new Asian Palace, which was the former China Palace in Wexford. The inside was renovated, brighter then before. There were six of us and we ordered five dishes to share, Singapore rice noodle, Beef chow fun which wasn't on the menu, mongolian three delight, eggplant love green bean, and Tofu homestyle. Everything was delicious, and the portions were good. We met the owner Sophie who was very hospitable and welcoming. Forgot to take photos of our food or would have included them. Its a nice new addition to the area.

What an unexpected delight! My wife and I were out running errands when I sensed the first symptoms of hangriness in my wife’s mood. I knew time was of the essence, so I quickly inquired what she was in the mood for for lunch. Much to my dismay, she specifically wanted to go to a Chinese buffet… Don’t worry, I too am living in 2024 and am cognizant that those went extinct a long time ago, but trying my best Hail Mary play, I drove us to a restaurant I remember from my youth, being a Chinese Buffet, that Google listed as still open. Upon entering China Palace my heart sank in realizing quickly the buffet aspect to the restaurant had long since been removed. But there was no time to pivot as my wife’s hangriness was reaching Defcon level one, so we allowed the very personable host to seat us. The host it turned out was also our server, sushi chef, and quite unexpectedly, our guide and companion to witnessing the celestial event that was the solar eclipse. I am ashamed that I failed to get her name, but our receipt had “Debbie” on it, so I pray I am giving credit where credit is due. Debbie, you were such an unexpected delight. Thank you so much for the wonderful hospitality, delicious food, and your companionship in watching the eclipse together. I’m sure my wife and I will be back before the next time the moon silhouettes the sun, but we also have every intention of keeping our word and meeting at the China Palace in Wexford for the next celestial...

Asian Palace has truly transformed the former China Palace location into a vibrant dining experience. The updated space is not only casual and clean but also invites you to enjoy your meal in a relaxed atmosphere. The owner’s passion for providing a great experience really shines through, making you feel welcomed from the moment you step in.

I had the hibachi salmon with vegetables, and it was simply outstanding. Everything was cooked to perfection, allowing the flavors to shine beautifully. We also tried the General Tso’s chicken and the amazing chicken, both of which were equally impressive. Each dish was flavorful and well-executed, showcasing the kitchen’s skill.

Overall, we’ve found our new go-to spot for both dine-in and takeout options. If you’re looking for delicious Chinese cuisine in a friendly environment, I highly recommend giving Asian Palace a try!
