Park Side Pub — Restaurant in McFarland

Was sitting at the bar on a Friday Fish Fry night. Staff was placing trays with bowls of coleslaw in the cooler under multiple racks of beverage cans with no wrap over them. So anytime a can would be grabbed from the cooler who knows what was falling into the slaw. After the 2nd tray was replaced in the cooler unwrapped my friend mentioned to the barkeep that the cottage cheese was covered but why not the slaw. That’s how people get sick.The barkeep replied with people get sick from so many other places. The barkeep then took the tray in back and wrapped it after getting defensive about it. If they are doing this in customer view what are we not seeing go on in back. As a former service industry worker this is a situation you learn from and thank the customer for speaking up rather than get upset that they spoke up. I really would have loved to give this place 5 stars. The food is just plain amazing. Great staff.... with one exception. I'm not sure if maybe she knows the owner, but Katy(?) (Middle aged server working around the bar area) Is just plain rude. Very seriously inconsiderate, makes you feel bad about asking for anything. To top it off, she tries to pawn off work on the bartenders. For example, a friend of mine wanted his check split. She argued with her coworkers for at least 5 min. before someone finally did it for her. She doesnt seem to have the first clue as to what good service means. I really hope they can sort this out, because good food only goes so far with me, and I know of several other people that have had similar experiences recently.

Stopped in after the Badger game to watch the Milwaukee Brewers clinch a spot in the ALCS. Ordered a round of drinks and a couple of pizzas.. They were pretty busy, and the pizzas seemed to be taking quite awhile… 30 minutes to wait for frozen pizza seemed excessive… The pizzas finally arrived….Absolutely cold to the touch..(like morning after pizza) Very disappointed… we probably should have sent them back, however, they really shouldn’t have been delivered to the table at all. Perhaps release your walking around with COLD pizza, and have the kitchen bake 2 new ones…. This is an awesome spot to watch a game as there seems to be a large screen TV for every 4 people!
