Jade's River Queen — Restaurant in McGregor

A real gem with great staff, definite must-visit in McGregor.

Shelly was a delight and treated us like royalty when we visited. We enjoyed just chatting with her, bur they have a great electronic dart board, digital juke box, and a couple pool tables, too.

Drinks and beers are fairly priced, shots were a steal, and she knows several special shots she can treat you two. Don’t leave without trying her famous “Shellzone,” which is a quick and tasty calzone she makes to order for you. Perfect with a cold local beer washing it down.

Check out the mural (painted by a drifter many, many decades earlier for room and board when the bar was also an inn), and a ton of nostalgic wall art found around the bar.

There’s even a little cougar guarding the large flat screen TV, who gets gussied up with a toboggan cap on the winter. Need I...

This place was great! The atmosphere was really cool and the staff are so friendly and accommodating! We had a picky eater to please and they made an exception and made a half and half pizza for us. Jade’s and Jade herself are exceptional! The bar feels dive-y, but instead of a surly old biddy, you get Jade! Funny, energetic and knowledgeable.
