Starbucks — Restaurant in McHenry

Wanted to love this Starbucks so much based on its locatoin and shiny new store, but after visisting a few times there are some glaring issues. These past few weeks there is lady who takes the orders in the dirve-thru in the moring who talks so much, it actually backs up the line to the point where I have backed out of the line a few times. She starts this whole long thing about do you want to buy food, blah, blah, blah. They are 7 cars deep and and shes asking for names for the orders. Its drive-thru at 7 a.m., were all lined up!! Lets use some efficeny, cut the chatting and lets get the line moving. Also within the last few weeks I am noticing that every cold dirink is filled to the absolute top with ice. If you are looking for a wildly inefficent drive-thru, a overly chatty order taker in the morning when they have huge lines and cold coffee drinks that are filled all the way to the top with ice, then this is your place. As someone who used to be a barista, I try to have grace with food service workers, but at this point they’ve had so many chances to improve and they haven’t. Every time I come here it seems all of the baristas hate their job and hate their customers. If you place a mobile order and show up after 4 minutes they give you attitude. They have forgotten parts of my order multiple times and have an attitude when you ask them to give you the items they forgot or they close the window and look at you like you’re crazy when you’re waiting. I ordered a matcha, and put flavoring in it and it was genuinely the worst drink I have ever had & that is my go to order. They have given me regular milk instead of oat milk multiple times, when I am severely lactose intolerant. The inside of the store is clean at least, I'll give them that. I will not be returning to this Starbucks and will be going to the BETTER Starbucks on RTE...

I came here with my 5 year old son. A team member, Drew, offered to make my son a small frappucino free of charge. Within 2 seconds of handing it to my son, my son drops it, sending liquid sugar and caramel everywhere. I asked for something to clean it up so the staff wouldn't have to clean up my son's mess. They were extremely understanding and patient as my son and I cleaned everything up. Then, Drew, great guy that he is, REMADE THE FREE DRINK!!! Absolutely incredible.
