I will say that this place has WONDERFUL sushi! Everything tasted amazing. My family has recently moved to Texas and this was our first time coming to this restaurant. It is a small place with about 6 or 7 tables.
When we entered we were greeted by our waitress and she provided excellent service. She made sure we were well taken care of. Now for the problem.
As we are eating dinner, I notice the woman who appears to be management or maybe the owner step out and ask each table if everything was ok with a big smile. There were 3 other couples inside besides my husband, our daughter and I. She spoke to each table, but did not ask us. She walked right past. I shared with my husband that I feel were maybe experiencing some discrimination. You see the other difference between us and the other customers is we have loced hair, a 1 year old with us and we are African-American.
My husband said maybe it's a timing thing maybe she will ask us later. One of the other couples came in after us and she spoke to them, but I said ok. We were there for 20 more minutes and not a peep or even a smile from the manager. I did see her say goodbye and thank you to her other customers as they left. So I thought, maybe she will say something as we leave.
My family left and you could hear a pin drop. Not a thank you or a good bye from any employee, period. So one can only conclude that the woman either doesn't like Black people, babies or natural hair. Either way my family will not be returning. I told myself I would pray and sleep before I wrote this review and my feelings didn't change. I speak with dollars and my dollars will not be spent here. I am sure my family can find sushi at a place that treats all pay...

Read moreHonestly, just okay. We got a takeout order with two sushi rolls, chicken katsu, and tempura cheesecake. The sushi was pretty good, kind of like the sushi you can get at Kroger or Market Street though. Decent, but not mind-blowing. The chicken katsu, however, was inedible. If they had put it in a styrofoam container or something breathable it may have survived, but it was packed down so tightly on top of rice in a plastic container that once we got home (five minute drive) it had become so soggy that the breading had all fallen off and there was no amount of crisp left whatsoever. It was rubbery and gross. The tempura cheesecake however was fabulous and we wished we had ordered two pieces, so that boosts my review. I don't want to give up on this place because the sushi wasn't bad and the value is good, but we will probably skip the takeout since it isn't packed great and try visiting again once Covid-19 has...
