The selection looks vast.
I came in for a cup of tea. I am not able to walk at present, not without the help of a rolling walker and a lot of sitting down.
There is no tea menu. I had to roll over to the tea and then back to the counter to say and pay for what I wanted.
Then, the tea was completely “do it yourself.”
It was hard to stand and find all the pieces for the cup, which burned my hand when it was handed to me, and I thus spilled some.
I didn’t see the mug protector, nor was one put on for me, and I struggled to find the lids (a dispenser far to the end of the counter).
It isn’t a bad idea, but the layout spanned the whole table and the cup pieces were not all in one spot.
I was clearly struggling and wished one of the six or seven employees standing around talking had offered to open a door even (they were a bit of a hassle to get in and out of, and there are two coming in).
If I had been ambulatory, the tea making process would have been mildly annoying. Given the pain and dysfunction I’m currently in, and the lack of help, though I kept asking for this or that, was frustrating.
In my picture I show about a quarter of the tea bar. The cup hand protectors and lids should be RIGHT HERE (the carrier cases are) but the covers are halfway down the table, and the lids are on the opposite side of the long counter. The layout makes no sense, it’s cumbersome, and I can only imagine how frustrating that is when any amount of a...
Read moreAs others have posted, I’ve also been going here for many years and recently have felt the effects of new owners. Over the summer my family and I ordered sandwiches on 3 separate occasions and each time something in the order was wrong. The first time our turkey BLTs had no turkey, the second time a sandwich that was not meant to have cheese came with cheese and the other with chipotle Mayo instead of none, and this most recent time there was no turkey or cheese on a turkey and cheese sandwich (just lettuce, tomato and bread!) and no turkey on a turkey BLT! It’s frustrating because their food is normally good but something is going horribly wrong with the ordering and food preparation. Last I spoke with a manager they were having one of the owners give me a call but they never did. I hope Blue Moon can turn things around. Until then I’m ordering somewhere else.
**While it’s nice that the new owners apologized publicly on this platform, I would have preferred to receive a personal phone call and could have left the negative...
Read moreI picked up a prepaid order a week ago. It was the first time since new ownership (about 4 months) I had been there. I previously lived in Medfield and would visit Blue Moon at least once a week and loved the place. Unfortunately, this visit was very disappointing but I didn't know it until I got home. I had picked up a dozen sliced bagels, a hamentashen and some bread. When I got home, there were only nine bagels (plus the free one) in the bag and the slicing was horrible. Not even close to two equal halves on many bagels. These developments were bad enough but worse, I don't believe the product was as good as previously, at least the hamentashen and bagels. The loafs of bread were gifts to others so can't comment on them. While in the store, I spoke with one of the new owners; a very nice, personable fellow. I wished him luck moving forward and do hope things improve. The bagel short change and slicing are certainly correctable with the right help. Not so sure about product...
