I can't possibly say enough amazing things about this bakery! We discovered it soon after moving to the neighborhood and always loved it: amazing pastries, delicious breakfast sandwiches, and always lovely service.
But mostly I came to preach about their custom orders because this month, Danish Pastry House also starred in our wedding weekend twice - first we got a generous and extremely well-priced box of perfect, fresh, flaky pastries for our welcome brunch, and second we got FOUR different cakes for our reception for less than half the price of the cheapest "wedding cake" we looked at. For reference, we got 2 8-inch and 2 10-inch cakes and had many, many, many leftovers from our little 40-person reception, all for a little over $200. We called both orders in and picked them up in-store; super easy.
The cakes were so, so good. We had an Othello (yum), a Sachertorte (yum), a Carrot Cake (I thought this would be the least thrilling, but it must have been delicious because it was the only cake that disappeared completely without me getting a bite), and a Passionfruit cake (I'm a chocolate person and wasn't overly excited about this one, but I think that it was probably the best cake I've ever had - it was SO light and tangy, creamy and moist and just absolutely addictive). I spent half the morning after my wedding eating leftover passionfruit cake with a spoon! There are photos of my niece refusing to take another step because she just wants to sit on the floor and finish her cake (pictured here, and I don't blame her)! I lost count of the number of guests who told me it was the best wedding cake they'd ever had! They were that good.
I have yet to try anything from this bakery that isn't scrumptious, and I have been consistently happy about the quality and quantity you get for their prices, both in-store and...
Read moreIncredible service, not rushed, patient, and with a smile. Delicious choices from the amazing croissants, to an absolutely delicious Nutella cappuccino, chicken curry salad sandwich, and something wonderful called Crinkles (I think I spelled that right🤔). Will definitely be returning to try their pecan pie, and insanely gorgeous cakes! 😱 Adding to my rev. I just had their veggie quiche and it's as light as a souffle and the crust is buttery delicious. I don't know the last time I had quiche this good. Also the pieces they sell you are generous. I'm adding to my original review: went again today and it's incredible to getting such an amazing greeting that it feels like a hug without the rep coming out from behind the counter. Tarra's incredible personality makes you feel so welcomed. I got more of their incredible chocolate croissants to bring to the nurses at Melrose Wakefield Hospital who are caring for mom. The last box I brought to Home Instead Senior Care went over huge! Oh and the mocha latte is...
Read moreAbsolutely unique and amazing, authentic Danish pastries that the owner who is Danish has brought to our corner of the world. My favorite is the marzipan filled almond horn cookie or the coconut macaroons. Also unbelievable cakes and cake slices. Nearly everything has nuts, though so not a good place for those who are allergic to nuts. Also breakfast pastries including a special one called a Kringle. They also do lattes and other Cafe drinks as well as some sandwiches at lunch, all quality but sometimes slow service in a non-predictable way for the sandwiches and fancy drinks so a lovely place for lunch but not if you are in a big hurry. But hasn't been crowded lately and a lovely place to meet friends or bring the best treats home to your family who will thank you. Quite close to Tufts and not to be missed if...
