I asked around town for the best place to get breakfast. Multiple people said Rocky's, so I figured I couldnt pass them up!
They appear to have a full breakfast/lunch/dinner menu all day. I was planning on steak and eggs, or maybe french toast, but I was told the skillets and biscuits and gravy were the best things on the menu, so I figured I'd try both.
Food and service were pretty fast, especially considering that there seemed to be only 2 or 3 people covering the whole restaurant.
My meat lover's skillet was huge and had a lot of flavor. My only complaint was I asked for a runny egg, and it was not runny.
The biscuits and gravy were pretty standard biscuits and gravy, nothing exceptional, but on the other hand, biscuits and gravy are pretty hard to find above the mason dixon line, and they were solidly good.
I also got a piece of pineapple coffee cake to go. I was told it was homemade and was prepared to be amazed, but it was just ok.
About 2/3 through my meal a gentleman came and sat down across from me and asked where I was from and what brought me to town. I pretty quickly figured out he was Rocky, the restaurant owner, asking how I liked my meal.
My total came to around $20 which wasnt dirt cheap but not overly expensive either.
I'm not going to go out of my way to come back, but I wouldnt mind returning, either. I'll probably try lunch or...
Read moreWalked into a semi busy restaurant. At first glance, we were pleased with how fast someone came to get our drink order and how quick it came. Although 2 coffees and a water shouldn't take long. We ordered 2 grilled ham and cheese sandwiches. One with potato soup and the other with sweet potato fries. We were told it was a good thing we just ordered the last of the potato soup. Sadly, the soup was hardly warm. It then took over 35 minutes to get the rest of our meal. After waiting and waiting our food finally came. Wouldn't ya know it, the fries were cold. The sandwich proved to be NOT worth the wait as the ham was thin pieces of lunch meat ham. I asked for ranch for my fries that after 10 minutes still wasn't brought out. Then again, it's not like my fries were going to get cold. All in all, I think I'll skip coming here again and continue on someplace else 😖 The only reason the waitress received a tip was because she did apologize for the wait. Thank...
Read moreHad the pleasure of stopping into this Cozy restaurant. Waitress was very pleasant, friendly and service was great. The food was great and very reasonable. Good portions. Had something happen to me that never happened in my life at a restaurant. My meal (2 egg omelet loaded with ham, mushroom, peppers, onions cheese. Never had so much goodies in the omelet) This came with toast and when I said I didn't need it they offered me other alternatives so I asked for just a little American Fries. When I received my meal I was certain I would be paying extra, no way was I charged for the AF. Unbelievable. The only negative was that the owner was at the cash register when we paid and left and didn't say "thank you", I am big on that!!!! When in the area I will be back and hope you stop at Rocky's Cozy Kitchen on Hwy...
