Lizzy's — Restaurant in Melbourne

Before moving away from Melbourne in 2011, you can order from the rather extensive menu in the window. When I returned in May of 2017, the extensive menu is still in the window, but you can not order from it. I have ordered from the location 6 times since returning and they mainly serve chitlins, lima beans, green beans, rice and gravy, pork chops, fried chicken occasionally, and fish less that on occasion. Obviously, the owner is not putting money back into the business. My Brother who has 3 successful Soul Food restaurants in Atlanta visited me last week. We visited the location during lunch, placed an order for sides only and waited an embarrassingly 20 minutes to receive just sides. Why? Because they had to cook more lima beans which we learned after finally receiving the order. If informed of this, we could have simply omitted the lima beans. The food was overly salted and over cooked which is an insult to soul food. My brother's response, "Hold on Melbourne and Palm Bay, Lizzy's will be out of business come Fall of 2018." My brother has already PURCHASED a building for his new location, a very nice, safe, and clean location that you can sit down and eat. Lizzy, you had a nice run, but you have proven to be worn out and disinterested in providing quality food and service to your customers. 2 stars for...

Edit 1: Food Inspection of April 12, 2024 found violation 3-302.11(A)(2) FC [High Priority Violation] which is basically "raw animal foods like shell eggs were not properly separated from raw burgers in the cooler, risking cross-contamination." THIS WAS CORRECTED ON-SITE, so everything should be fine now.

There are in total 16 violations (1 High Priority, 4 Intermediate, and 9 Basic) but most of them were address on-site. (Some of them were not corrected on same day)

I was hyped to try some chicken for black people like me, but I figured that it was too good to be true. I placed a order for a 10 pc basket which is 10 traditional wings with fries for $16.30.

Sadly when ordering the food, the cashier couldn't hear me correctly since they was arguing with another staff member in the kitchen and someone was blasting loud music out of their car. They put buffalo sauce on my wings instead of lemon pepper. I been standing for about 30 minutes for my food so I didn't felt like waiting for more so I took the food and just ate it.

Wings I don't like buffalo, but the texture of the wings was good 3/5 stars

Fries The fries was horrible. No seasoning and were over...

Your food is pretty good, but the extremely poor attitudes you show repeatedly to repeat customers makes it not worth giving you any business. YOUR system messes up and our order isn't ready when it's supposed to be, rather than apologize and make it right you give attitude. And I tipped well on that order which was definitely not deserved. This is not the first time there have been issues, 3 times order was wrong, when you are out of sides you just sub whatever you want without calling to ask. No one there cares how customers are treated. One time when we picked up there was a lady outside wanting to fight with the people at the window, and the staff was doing nothing to de escalate it, they were yelling and encouraging her. I will drive further to go to Lloyd have mercy in Titusville. The food is better and NO POOR ATTITUDES. You guys should be ashamed at how you treat people who drive 30 minutes and spend 50-100 each visit. I have seen reviews where people say they felt treated differently because they were white, I'm not gonna make that full assumption, I just assume they treat everyone poorly and don't care. ...
