I don’t usually leave bad reviews because I always give the place a fair chance to make up for their mistakes but this place needs to be completely re staffed. Not a single person up there knows what they are doing at all.
Initially made a 8:00 pm trip to the location to get dinner for me and a couple others. Not a giant order but enough that I expected a small delay. It took over 20 minutes to get the food with no word until near the 20 minute mark the manager who is clearly flustered with only 3 cars there when I arrived. She tells me she saw my chicken and wouldn’t serve it to her dog so she had it remade. I let her know it was no problem and I was in no hurry, just glad to have the food made well.
I drive off assuming since I waited that entire time, all the food would be fresh.
Get home open it up and find the sandwich that I ordered plain, add bacon and cheese, of coarse is made incorrectly and poorly with absolutely not fresh chicken. The cheese sticks has all melted together and were burnt and every other thing had clearly been sitting under a warmer or was more than an hour old.
Didn’t want to bother the manager since she clearly was not having a good night.
I brought my receipt and photos up to the same store today and asked only that the sandwich and cheese sticks be comped but I would like to re order the whole thing and pay for it.
A car hop, who has no business speaking with any customers let alone one who has been inconvenienced, answers the door with another one immediately looking defensive and on guard even though all I did was open the door.
Immediately I try to explain I’m not here to complain I just want the order done right and I’m even willing to pay for everything else regardless of the fact that it was all difficult to eat. After 30 minutes of killing time and working on the phone, the same low energy car hop with no customer service skills asks if I had something about a burger on my order.
They hadn’t even started addressing my order. They hadn’t even listened to what I said.
I told her I have other stuff to do and wasn’t expecting this to be a 2 hour ordeal but to keep my receipt because I need this to be fixed one way or another.
Not once did the manager come to try and speak to me.
That was your chance to fix your mistake sonic. It’s understandable when business make mistakes and I never expect anyone to be perfect but you’ve now wasted more than 2 hours of my time and $50.00 of my money with every opportunity to make up for it.

I just stopped in at this particular Sonic on Hwy121 in Melissa. We live nearby & we try to support our local businesses every chance we possibly can. It's a week before school starts, and our kids have been asking about getting a shake. I checked the Sonic website (for any current specials), and they have Half-Priced Shakes after 8pm. That sounds great, and my boys can hardly wait until the evening comes. Around 8:30pm, we drove to Sonic, went through all the wonderful choices, and pushed the button for service. When I began my order, I was abruptly cut off by the Sonic employee, and she said that special ended in the Summer. I replied by saying I saw the special online, and it said it did not end for another five days (Sunday). She shot back at me LOUDER this time, and again said "that special ended this Summer!" I mentioned that their menu screen right in front of me was ADVERTISING that VERY SAME SPECIAL!!! Again she refused, and said the special ended in the Summer. I started to ask if perhaps her location decided to end that corporate special earlier than advertised (even though they were still advertising it on their menu screen), but before I could finish my question, I was AGAIN abruptly interrupted, and she yelled to me, "OK, what do you want???"
At this time, it became clear to me any business that chooses to treat their patrons/customers in this manner does not deserve my money - - or yours as well. I decided to take my money to another establishment.
Then, as I drove slowly around the building, I passed the drive-thru area/window. There was a girl & a manager LAUGHING hysterically! She could hardly stand up she was laughing so hard. He yelled out, "Are you gonna let him treat you like that???", and he burst out laughing. I looked inside the Sonic, and the other five people were ALL pushing & shoving & laughing, making similar comments. Suddenly, one or two of them looked out the window, realized that I was watching them, stood up straight, and stopped laughing (briefly). As I drove away, I heard them BURST out laughing again.
Needless to say, we will NOT be visiting that Sonic again. I simply wanted a nice ice cream treat for my three boys. They were very disappointed. One asked why "that lady" was so rude, and another asked why they would laugh about treating people in such a way. I...
Read moreThe management of this location is by far the worst. The gm here treats her staff poorly. They constantly have to hirer people because the staff is always leaving do to the lack of respect they receive. I have seen the gm of this location miss treat her employees numerous times. she is always yelling at someone and acts as if she can say what she wants to her staff just bc she is the boss. a lot of harassment goes on inside of this location which is why the car hops are always in a bad/rude mood when they take out orders. this always explains why the kitchen staff is always so low. one theres only one to two ppl having to handle the mass amount of orders coming in there are bound to be mistakes. 90% of the time there is only one guy that I see thats ever in the kitchen. the lack of quality that comes from this location is not due to the carhops/cooks, its from the lack of management skills. when management and gm's can treat there staff so poorly it makes the rest of the staff operate in a poor manner. sadly this location Is not a corporate one so any complaints to corporate get emailed to the gm and she gets to handle the complaint, even if its about her. the franchise owner and gm have a special relationship, so complaining to him doesn't solve anything either. when visiting this location, bc its ALL Melissa has, just keep in mind that most of the staff are great employees that are being miss treated. a wise person would take a closer look into the running of this location. this place has lots of potential, if the verbal harassment from management issue was resolved. to the carhops and kitchen crew, I see you.
