This isn't even worth one star. I hate giving a bad review, but I have to say that tonight we got take out from our local favorite and it totally disappointed. I walked in to pick up the order and all 3 cooks had no gloves on touching every food and it really upset me. I saw one of the girls working in the kitchen taking her bare hands filled with cheese making a salad then itched her nose. I almost started yelling at her. Her nails were so long who knows what was underneath and not wearing a hairnet either?? I'm sorry put gloves on when you are touching food especially nowadays. My husband normally does the pick-up there on Friday's and I just was very disappointed. I came home to eat my salad that I was on the fence about eating and the grilled chicken tasted liker rubber and there was a hair in my salad. I won't ever go back. We threw out most of the food after I told my husband that none of them were wearing gloves. I don't think the food is fresh there especially with how small the kitchen is. I think I might report to the board of health with not wearing gloves. I was in shock. They had their hands all over the...

I visited Wood and Fire Napolitan Pizzeria in Melrose on Pi Day (3.14), and they truly delivered! The warm ambiance and friendly staff made me feel very welcomed, and the staff were exceptionally attentive. I’ve tried their margherita pizza before, which is absolutely authentic and takes me back to Naples. Today, I tried their pepperoni pizza with honey on the recommendation of the wonderful hostess, and it was fantastic. The crust, made in a wood-fired oven, was just perfect. Honestly, for the quality and authenticity they deliver, they could charge more—but I hope they don’t, because it’s already such a great value. And even if they did, I’d happily pay for it! However, I strongly recommend dining in for their Neapolitan-style pizza. To enjoy it authentically, you need to eat it fresh out of the oven, just like in Naples. The experience of warm bread and perfectly melted cheese is what makes it special, so please disregard any negative takeout reviews. Trust me, you won’t regret making the trip for the...

I would give this place 5 stars for the food but 3 because (1) service; (2) tried to call to place an order and number is not in service; this is a restaurant that is open so no phone number now? Tried to use Grub Hub - forget that on hold forever. Last time I went, we waited about 45 minutes for food - did not charge for 1 glass of wine, but customer near us arrived after us and got his food. And, more than one occasion, when ordering takeout pannini's, said no salad because they put it right in with your sandwich then the bread is soggy. Told them more than once, no salad because of this reason and they still did it. Obviously, they need better organizational skills to run this place. Too bad because the food is great if you can get service or...

Disappointed! My whole bag ripped open when I took it out the car because the “steam” wet the bottom of the bag. The server/waitress was very unpleasant, rude and she rushed packing my “multiple “items in the bag so that she could go back and gossip with her co-worker. She should’ve used multiple bags instead of being cheap!🤬 I also told her “rare” burger and she responded “ medium rare” which is what I got. Meatballs were cold inside as if they just microwave them. Veal was ok, not bad. Zucchini flowers were a horror show. Nothing but fried dough. Bottom of my $20 pizza was not cooked enough so pizza was wet, soggy 🤢 I had to rebake it in my oven at home😞

Always looking for the closest thing to pizza di Napoli! It's nice to bite into something and immediately be brought back to my childhood and connect w/ my family in spirit. Other than buying from Talia di Napoli at a grocery store or online, I don't think any place around does Neopolitan pizza justice. I wish they didn't outsource their zucchini blossoms as without cheese is delicious, but maybe next time it's in season. Great selection of craft beers. Would love to see them stock Menebrea bionda, which is Italy's actual oldest beer (and superior to Peroni). Don't hesitate, come here NOW and enjoy fresh pizza. It's so good, I'm already craving some more.

We loved the entire experience of dining in this little shop off main street. The pizza was a revelation - the dough just perfectly charred and fluffy light yet binding enough knockout flavour from the tomatoes and the basil. The papardeli pasta was amazing - meaty, perfectly textured mouth feel and silky with the meat sauce and the cheese. The service was warm and welcoming and we felt so at home. Special thanks to the chefs and the staff who spoke to us and made us feel so welcome. We loved it and we will be back!! Highly recommended place to stop over in Melrose!
